doing nothing:wth: he intercepted the ball twice.
how do you call giacherini then? he didn't put one good cross in there?
giac was working, pressing, and delivered the ball to de ceglie, pirlo or vucinic, his duty didnt involve crossing

intercepted twice ? you mean he picked up the ball when it went outside ?

Elia was played on the right, which is clearly nor his preferred position. Also, most of our plays after his sub went through the left and center. Del Piero, PDC and Vucinic were constantly involved in the attacks that time. Elia hardly saw much of it. You gotta give credit at least for teh tracking back and winning the ball a few times, something he was criticised for might not doing it enough.

also, his positionning was terrible, right next to del piero.

making space smaller

he should be on the right, opening things up

not knowing where you are supposed to run in this system as a rightwinger, thats just bad.

I didn't either. He looked to be walking around, not playing with much confidence when out of possession. Nobody bothered to acknowledge him apart from Lichtsteiner which was weird.

The coach has access to him in training, but I don't think any fan can properly make a case for him after that game at all.

That must tell you how much confidence they have in him from training

After being on the bench for so many games the first thing he does is take a run all the way back to help on defense. Serie A has gotten to him :touched:

Anyway, has he ever played on his actual position on the left? He has been subbed like twice before and both times he was placed on the right.

WRONG! His preferred position is LW. Besides, most of our attacks were coming down our left and middle. When you're pushing forward to get a goal, then his positioning is quite understandable.

Doesn't make sense to me.

His very first involvement was to track back and win the ball on our right. He did it again immediately after giving away the ball near their penalty.
ah, putting pressure with pirlo, is called winning back the ball

in my dictionary, winning back the ball is making a challenge for it and capturing it, then passing to a teammate or start a run

His performance wasn't bad nor good. Should definitely get more shots since Pepe's fluke of luck is over.
it kinda reversed, one can only wonder how he didnt score twice today

altho the referee is one of the reasons
