Straight out of the Netherlands comes this "open source" movie project. The movie was created entirely with free software and is available for download by torrent free of charge. The theme is quite Matrix-y.

The movie was done mostly in Blender and the developers even implemented certain functions especially for the purpose of this movie (which now of course everyone can use freely).

I would never get my hands on anything that combines the words "Netherlands" and "movie" in the same sentence.

Well, they had people working on it from various parts of the world as well, just that it was funded here and based in Amsterdam.

Oh and if you buy the DVD, you actually get the "source" files, so you can use the same models, the same scenes and do a remake yourself. On the movie site there's some news about people having done that and added their own music etc. Pretty groovy.
