Not sure if there is so much to translate. He'll get a bonus of 17.5 million when he signs which makes up for his reduction in yearly wages. He gets 7.5 at PSG, whereas Juventus will only pay 4.5 a year. Somehow that bonus would mean a significant reduction for Juventus (interests?).

Ta.

Thought the suggestion was that paying Cavani a lump sum - rather than paying him in normal wages or bonuses - would result in a reduction in what Juve had to pay in tax.

Juventus now giving 18m signin bonuses? No way
Yeah, seems pretty unlikely.

Juve want to pay transfers in as many installments as possible, but would suddenly drive a truck full of money up to Cavani's front door.

But that would have to mean if he left before his contract was up we wasted money?
:boh:

Would depend on the details of the deal, I'd imagine.

that is fucking confusing, i believe its just a smoke screen to get another player some one mention their LB is promising.
It is,hard to guess what's going on there, hopefully we'll soon find it out ;) :xfinger:
What them go for Cavani and come back with Veratti. :touched:
:tuttosport:
Well it could be hard for us fans to understand things. In reality we could loose our front duo in a year. Morata could go back to Real and Tevez propably will play next season and then leave. We don't know but im sure Marotta, Paratici, Nedved knows more. Im not saying Tevez or Morata will leave, but even if Tevez is the only one leaving next season and Morata stays. Im would happily have Dybala, Morata, Cavani in the squad.

Maby our club sees Cavani as the perfect striker for Juventus, and now they see the perfect timing for making a move. We could have all 4 for a season, maby Allegri want to use a tridente Cavani-Tevez-Morata/Dybala. We don't know.

Im sure that if Cavani comes this summer, that the club has a good reason for it.
First of all you right,we should trust the club and its staff completely.they know what's really going on.
And actually that makes sense.Tevez will leave in a year or so.
There is no guarantee that Alvaro will stay and not be recalled by Real in a year from now as well.
And it might be the best chance to get Cavani,IF he will be sold.
Because if he does, then it's either get him now or never.

In the specific case of Cavani, Juventus has promised the former Napoli to guarantee him the same salary received at PSG, amounting to 7.5 million Euros per season, with the bonus that even surpass nine points. The current roof signings of Juventus is five million (Tevez is the highest paid with 4.5): Cavani will sign a five-year to 5.5 million Euros per season (27.5 net for the entire duration of the agreement) . At the signing Juventus striker will pay 17.5 million net, which is nothing but the result of the difference between 45 (which would gain in five years if his salary remained nine million per year) and 27.5 (what actually will be marked in the budget): this bonus, for the payment of which will be a solution in line with the Italian tax system, would enable Juventus a substantial savings on gross figure

This sounds interesting, but could do with a detailed translation from someone.

@Red
Wow.
5.5M a year +Juve paying Cavani 17.5M.damn that's alot.
+Transfer fee i assume would be no less than 45M-50M...

Make him cut his wages ffs.give him 6M-6.5M a year and that's it.

Not if there is a clause in the contract that would force Cavani to pay back the prorated remaining amount of the bonus.

Or, the fee to whomever they sell him to would be inclusive of the remaining bonus.

Juve close on Cavani deal
By Football Italia staff

There are mixed reports over the outcome of a Juventus summit with Edinson Cavani, as Atletico Madrid call PSG.

It is well known that the former Napoli striker is a prime transfer target for the summer, especially with club coffers buoyed by reaching the Champions League Final.

According to Calciomercato.com, Juve have already agreed terms to keep Cavani on the current €7.5m wages he earns at Paris Saint-Germain.

This would involve an accounting trick to spread the real cost over bonuses, which do not count on the wage bill.

The Juve wage cap is €5m per season and Carlos Tevez is the highest paid player on €4.5m.

It’s claimed the club would give Cavani a signing-on fee worth €17.5m, which would make up the difference in a lower official wage.

However, Sport Mediaset warn that agreeing terms with the Uruguay international is not enough, as Atletico Madrid are lobbying with PSG to sign the player.

There is the risk of a bidding war, so Juve reportedly set a 10-day deadline for Cavani to accept or they’ll find an alternative.

But I think that would then result in it being treated as wages from a tax point of view and negate the point of the alleged exercise.
The signing bonus cannot be done in installments. If they are following the american business model for signing bonuses and guaranteed money, the bonus is paid out in one lump sum.

Now, for salary and tax purposes, they may be stretching out the total tax and salary hit over the length of the contract, to the point where if Cavani does leave prior to fulfilling his deal, the remaining prorated bonus would be carried forward into that year.
