Maybe you're right. I didn't put much thought into that post. It's just an impression I get these days that players seem to be peaking around 25-28 as opposed to 28-32.
While I think that you do have a point, in that players are reaching their maximum potential at a younger age, but due to advances in the aforementioned items I had mentioned, they are also maintaining a higher level of quality as they go into their 30's.

Yeah that's probably the truth. Robben is a great example.

I mean, could you picture Tevez and Cavani together in Serie A?

The same Cavani who $#@!d this league for three years running in Napoli, but this time playing alongside Tevez?

:howler:

The rest of the league should just cancel their matches against Juve. There would be no point

The thing is, where is everybody getting this "overrated" crap from? He's playing 2nd fiddle to Ibra, but still is scoring a goal every two matches in all competitions.

Put him as a #9 on this squad?

Jesus.
Well, to be fair, look at who he was dealing with.

Yet Zamparini sold Cavani to Napoli for 17 million. It's no wonder why De Laurentis is nice to him. I'd be nice too if someone sold me a filet mignon for the same price as a double cheeseburger.

And for those who are saying that 28 is old.

If that is the case then they never should have purchased Nedved, right?

Or Tevez for that matter.

Because they were both older than Cavani is at that time
Not to mention that Del Piero turned 28 in 2002 and played for us for another 10 years...
And it's not as if he is 28 going on 29. He only turned 28 two months ago.
Exactly.

We will pay full price for a stellar CF who is more than competitive. No but or ifs. The final product proven and tested. Like you said, him with tevez would be practically overkill for Serie A,,,and im talking about ridiculous overkill.

But that kind of level is what we need for the CL. Because if you inserted other top tier forwards in our league,,, with a good team behind them..like Nessi, Cronaldo, Ibra...they would simply destroy this league in pieces. But those are the forwards needed to win in top tier CL matches.

Yes, it will be a gazzilion of money, and for a relatively matured player age wise......but it will be very worth the investment... more now than ever that we have Pogba in our ranks, and Marchisio and Vidal in the height of their powers.

That investment would be crucial to try to win the CL...at least for one season with that kind of team, i think is doable....after that, its very likely we will lose Tevez and Pogba for a gazzilion money and the team will be rebuild from scratch.

SO the time is now.

even if we sign him and he only gives us 2-4 years of world class goal scoring, then he would have been worth the cost.

Ok guys. Last warning.

First off, Cronios. Quit trolling. If you´re not trolling, then sort your life out (stop talking cray).

Second, everyone else. Use the ignore list.

Cronios making a unpopular post and everyone crowding in on it results in threads becoming completely derailed.

This action will now result in off topic infractions for all parties.

Oh $#@! off @Cronios

Seriously $#@! off.

You derailed the thread, called out as a troll and I get -Repped for it.

In case you didn't understand me the first time.

$#@! off.

Welcome to my ignore list
Good riddance, you are derailing the thread.
This is a thread about Cavani, not you and me.
We are in negotiations with this team for a possible sale of pogba.
My opinion has always been that CM and SS talents appear in abundance every year, yet prolific finisher are much more rare.
The market thinks the same and so the finishers are the highest rated and more expensive players.
If we were to make an exhange dean, or invest the money from sales, Cavani would be a wise choice.
This is my opinion and i have every right to express it in Cavanis thread, if not here where?

But you tried to turn this into a personal attack on me, you are the one who posted nothing relevant to this thread and instead attacked me, you are abusing yr relations with the mods to intimidate and insult me.

How is my observation off topic?
And we are only allowed posts that comply with the popular beliefs now?
We are not allowed to have our opinion any longer?

He's been playing second fiddle to Ibra for the most part though. When ever Zlatan has been out and Cavani has been more central he performs much better
