He is not a clinical striker..Misses way too many chances..Apart from that has got clumsy first touch and poor at linkups..

Which is why he was dropped from the German NT starting eleven in favor of Klose since Oezil needs somebody whose got good technique and whose generally very good at linkups.

He scores regularly in CL as well as scoring and playing decently in the euro's. Don't think he should have been dropped to be honest. He's just a real bomber of a striker and its held against him that he's lacking in a lot of other areas. His finishing is world class though and with the right service he's one of the best strikers you could ask for.

True, but once again, he hasn't scored against a top calss team on a regular basis. I follow Bundesliga a lot, and there he has an insane number of goals scored against minor teams, but struggles against big teams with good defences. Same in CL!
