0diggsdiggManchester City face the prospect of being trumped by Juventus for Wolfsburg hotshot Edin Dzeko.
City boss Roberto Mancini has claimed Dzeko is the man to fire them to the title.
But his paymasters now face the embarrassment of being beaten to the punch by Juventus.
Juventus managing director Beppe Marotta will meet with officials from the German club next week in a bid to nab the Bosnian. The Turin-based club are willing to allow Dzeko to stay at Wolfsburg for the rest of the season before moving to Italy in the summer, says the Daily Star.
And they are also ready to offer midfielder Momo Sissoko – who Wolfsburg tried to sign last summer – as part of the deal.
Juventus would also add Brazil-born Italy striker Amauri, 30, to the deal so that Wolfsburg have a ready-made replacement when Dzeko leaves.
The Italians know they can’t compete with the £5m-a-year salary City are ready to hand Dzeko.
But they feel he could be tempted by the lure of more regular football at Juve, where he would be an automatic first choice.

I know its from tribalfootball but it cheered me up for a minute, and I cant help but think the longer Marotta stays silent on this that he must be trying to work on something quitly in the background.
