lol @ "Modern game"

time and again that statement has proved to be BULLSHIT...any team that has a proper system and a solid defense will be a successful one...you don't need 11 magicians on the field to win matches...you play to your strengths, put players in positions where they will excel, you'll get the right results.
I pretty much agree.

The one thing you need more than in the past, though, is a few really good athletes in your team in key positions.

Other than that, you can still succeed by playing pretty much any way you fancy.

Dzeko is good, but to spend all that money is a risk Juve cannot take imo. Look at Melo, Diego and Amauri. If we buy him for 35/40 Millions and he fails, then we are fkd.
Best never try to sign a top class player again, then.

I love how some folk round here are dtermined Juve are becoming a mid table club, while others are scared to take the gambles needed to return to the top.

I want Juve to take chances, but on a guy who's already a proven star. To pay all that money for a guy who's just had 1 good year is crazy. And also a guy who plays for Wolfsburg? Comon.....

If you say Torres, then I dont care how much money they spend.

Given the relative price of Torres and Dzeko, and Torres' injury proneness, I would find it quite difficult to choose between them.
First you said the price shouldn't matter, now you say it does. WTF man, make up your mind.

Again, I like Dzeko alot, but not for 40 Millions. If we have to spend all that money, add another bag of cash and get Torres (If we can of course.).

You said if you buy him for 35m and he fails, Juve are fucked?

That could be said about absolutely any signing.

As it happens, that is only slightly more than Dzeko's market value, I think. It would be a totally different story if Juve were paying way more than a player is worth.
