If it makes everyone here happy I think if we get Krasic/Gio for the wings with Dzeko next to DP in a 442 then our Capitano will have a great season because he will have youthful legs all around him where he can just focus on his moments of brilliance whereas last season he had to literally carry the team every chance he had...now he can go back to doing what he does best.

You're right.
With Giovinco able to play on the wing, as an AM and as an SS he can be used nearly anywhere in attacking positions. Del Piero can go SS. Diego as AM. Pepe on both wings. Lots of lovely rotation.
And with the team not relying on Del Piero and playing as a TEAM, we may actually see him flourish without the responsibility of 10 other players.

In any case, if we sell Diego because we can't find room for him in the new formation, and in order to accommodate and start a 36 year old Del Piero, we will end up regretting it. I still think Diego can play as an SS in a 4-4-2 next to Dzeko, or as a trailing 2'nd forward in a 4-4-1-1.
