Depends on who is the SS or AM in the 4-4-2, but I think he'd be a very good option for both formations. Energetic winger who has great technique, they're hard to find.

And when I look at the present attacking ammunition, I see only Iaquinta...as alive and kicking. If we truly aspire to the greatness befitting a team of our history and prestige, we NEED a quality goalscorer...Trez is the only out and out goalscorer we have, and he is far from alive...so Dzeko, to me, would represent a massive jump forward for our offensive line, especially if we manage to keep diego, add a decent left back and experienced centre back to the squad. That, for me, would be a very decent mercato, encouraging me to bow in reverence, or at least respect, to Marotta...

According to Marotta we were after both Dzeko and Krasic, if we get Dzeko it means we will still be looking for a Winger so I don't see why people think we will stick with the likes of Lanzafame or Pepe.

Vargas and Martinez on the wings wouldn't be bad at all, it's not like Krasic is much better than Vargas.

He didn't say it directly but what I understand from that interview we were after both of them, so getting one of them which is a striker means that probably we'll get a winger too. Or maybe I'm just too optimistic.

We really need Dzeko more,though that i don't find Edin is the best option for us but i would prefer him over Krasic for 3 reasons:-

1-As u said we have enough wingers,and in my point of view i don't see Krasic better than Giovinco.

2-Dzeko though he is not the complete ST we need but he is 100% better finisher than all the 3rd class STs we have who don't know how to shoot the ball.In particular i mean Amauri & Iaquinta,Trezeguet still remains a legend but he has clearly passed it n he is not the ST who can score more than 20 goal/season anymore.

3-The importance of the position: Anytime anywhere if i'm given only one choise to enhance in one of the two positions ST or Winger i will always choose ST,because it is a more important n more sensitive position than the wings.We really lack scoring and one of our main prob last season was the STs.

If Marotta is insisting in buying only Dzeko,then why doesn't he just offer them Amauri + Iaquinta for Edin?

Im not actually a fan of Dzeko but i'm all the way with the depature of the useless couple we've got in Attack.

I think we do want another winger. Even after the announcements of Martínez, Pepe and Lanzafame, there was maintained interest in Krasic. Looks like Marotta has chosen between the two non EU players we're interested in.
