It would be entirely achievable if Fiorentina weren't battling relagation clawing their way back to a mid table team and trying to keep their best player to help them.
Put yourself in their shoes FFS instead of what you think Marotta should do. They need Jovetic much more than we do and he is under contract. They are free to reject whomever they want whenever they want.
As far as what Conte/Marotta want, I am playing devils advocate here...some of you scream murder that Marotta is an idiot without even considering that perhaps Conte wanted these moves first and foremost before a striker. No one has even considered it I don't think and thats exactly why I brought it up.
Its just easier for everyone to point their fingers to Marotta I guess than trying to think things through a bit more thoroughly.

Who said it's simple to negotiate? If anything it requires a lot of skill, a lot of wit, determination, deft and relentlessness. We are just saying that if we truly want our club to return to the top of Europe when we need one of Europe's (or the world's) top strikers and as such we should be fighting extremely hard to acquire one, not giving up on the first hurdle as seems to be the case with Marotta.

We got good deals on the Udinese duo I think. I mean, Vidal was a WC signing was he not? Barzagli on a dime was great. Licht. Gio. Vucinic. Everyone has been pretty darn good, including the youth players brought in.
The hardest thing for a top club (that isn't city, barca, real, etc) to sign is a WC striker. No one wants to sell their star players. We almost have to scout the top talent before anyone else gets them i think.
All I am saying is, it isn't as simple when working with a budget. It might be one he sells some players, which he really needs to do quickly. Also, if a club doesn't want to sell there isn't a damn thing we can do about it.

You can stop going on around that theory, last season every failed transfer was blamed on Conte and every successful transfer was said that Conte wanted, half of that is true.

Let's just hope some youth players in the attacking department just explode into WC players...cause clearly we won't be spending. Might aswell not spend on the likes of Pazzini\Boriello and just play the Immobiles\Boakye, if you're going to settle for shit. At least the latter, might turn into something good, if not you can always sell for a couple mills and make profit.
Departments - any realistic human being knows - that needed to be reinforced if we want to be able to juggle between 3 competitions. Ask Napoli or Milan...

You said we were already good at those departments. Well to play on 3 fronts we were actually really really really weak over there. No point in even debating we weren't. So Marotta made sure we have the same strengths as last year, only now with enough depth fr an entire season in Europe and Italy.
Pazzini as a major signing would be awful. But Pazzini instead of Quagliarella is an upgrade no matter what. Quags is useless to us with Giovinco and Vucinic here.

So we will have to forget about expensive foreigner WC dudes and try to be creative, finding one on our own.Yes, I said that, we had a good defence and now it's better (if Bonucci does not get suspended) and we had a very good midfield and now it's much better. However, we had a lame attack and we still do, in fact with Del Piero out we have a much worse forward line. Yet we prioritized re-enforcing what were good at not what we got weaker at. You can kid yourself that we might get someone other than Pazzini however I don't see us do anything more.
