Why not? I really don't think that'd be much of a problem for him. He wants all of that killer contract. Don't think he gives a fuck about sitting it out.
He obviously does. He's young and needs to play and while the contract was signed you can clearly see he's not happy about the current situation. He wants out but he wants the money too and we can't blame him as the contract was signed by both parties.

It's always going to be a better option for all parties to sell, even if we give him a golden handshake to fuck off and cover the difference in salary. We've done well standing our ground on a lot of deals (Miretti-Napoli the latest example) but we can't afford to make a misstep in the Vlahovic affair.

He looks like he has some pride and seems irritable at the slightest negativity or criticism. It is a World Cup year. He’s 25 and not playing a year of football. There is enough there for him to at least ‘give a fuck’ I believe.
He has burnt his bridges with the purple rats, and that situation may do something similar here to the point it would force him away from Italy.

You see a different player then. I just see someone who wants his last huge paycheck and doesn't really give a damn about anything else.

The media have certainly painted that narrative. We do not know the truth here.

Him snatching at shots that are not on, erratic first touches, errant passes are more synonymous with someone trying too hard than one who doesn’t give a damn.

In terms of going out on loan, I’m not sure of the specifics but we’d incur an unacceptable loss. Nearly all instances of players going out on loan in Italy in the final year of their contract involves an extension to spread the amortisation which doesn’t appear to be an option here.
The only feasible options are there is a club with funds, desperate for a centre forward at the end of the window that takes him, he stays here and plays for the final year, or we sit him in the stands.

No need to imagine this is exactly what will happen.

Prediction he has a great season. Leaves on free to Madrid or Barca to replace departing lewa or Vinicius
The most goals he has scored for us in 16 in the league in a season. That’s with FK’s and PK’s. I think his true infield goals were close to 10. No way in hell the elite clubs would even consider him

That’s what I like about modern game. You just need one killer season for clubs to go for you now.

And in his case a jump from juve to Barca is less of a career jump than say fiorebtina to Barca if we consider juve a big club still. I’m sure Barca does.

Anyway this is all hypothetical of course but regardless if he has a good 20+ goals this season there won’t be a shortage of clubs after him even with high salary… including juve itself

Here are some numbers for context:

Vlahovic has 1 year left on his contract and his current book value is around EU19m. He makes 12m net per year (~24m gross). That means if Vlahovic stays, he is going to cost the club EU43m - that is almost 10% of total revenue.

Kolo Muani was making ~4m net or EU8m gross. So If Juventus agreed to a 10m loan + 50m obligation to buy - he would cost 10m a year in amortization + 8m in gross wages = EU18m a year.

If we gave away Vlahovic for free we would book a EU19m loss but wouldn't have to pay his wages meaning it would still save us EU24m and Kolo Muani costs us 18m - meaning we are still EU6m better off.

A contract termination (worst case scenario) would involve writing his contract down to zero and paying him a termination fee. That termination fee could be 25% of his salary and we would breakeven in Year 1 while getting Kolo Muani. Of course, after this financial year we would be cleared of his financial burden.

Other clubs surely know this. So, unfortunately, we don't have a lot of room here. If we sold Vlahovic for EU10m - the headlines would be damning but it would be a great outcome for us.

Anyway, I really don't understand why people are throwing hissy fits about Dusan wanting to get paid. This club gave him a ridiculous contract to begin with. And stupid actions usually don't tend to have good outcomes.

If that is the case, keeping him is the same as terminating. Also if you are the player, you risk not playing for a whole season in order to get your 12m net and then nobody will want to pay you a good salary after that. So better lock in a decent salary for the next 5 years now at a club that sees something in you.

So who knows maybe Juventus needs to agree to pay part of his salary for the first year of his new contract that way Vlahovic gets close to what he would be earning plus locks in a decent salary for the next 4-5 years.

From Milan’s perspective they have a manager who rates him and knows how to use him and they can pick him up for 10m on a reasonable wage if the deal is structured right.

Either way it’s a shit show for us and it’s all about damage limitation.
