A perfect position for a left footer, perfect distance to get it up/down over the wall and against a team he has already scored a free-kick against in a similar position. But he doesn't have the confidence to try to go over the wall and instead hits it straight to the keeper's side for an easy save.
He did well in the build up to our goal but poor outside of that. Physically he looks off as well. He seems so inflexible to raise his leg to bring down passes not at the ideal height.
Our lack of a reliable striker is hurting us. I always think it is a worse sign for a striker to have no chances than miss a few. I can't think of any where he came remotely close to having a chance other than Nico's header off the bar.
Looked sharp for the first 5-10 minutes, then went back to his usual self, unable to control the ball, limbs all over the place and pocketed by the next average defender who instead of competing against, he wants to hug them and be friends.
the only positive thing is that he can hold up a ball, you feel presence there better than with Kolo. The first 15 minutes he looked like another player but then he started whining and losing duels like always.
I would seriously consider Adzic to play ST next game. Has confidence from nextGen and more importantly a future with this club.
Both Vlophovic and Kolo are out of the door in two months
