Why does a #9 need to be good at build up play if you have 2 wingers and a #10 in a line-up?

I personally think the reason why he looks so shit is the way Juve used him. Allegri played him at the half line / in his own half. Motta expects him to be as #10 and to to be the second coming of Kane.

Always the manager's fault, it's never the player. He has been served plenty of chances he failed to convert. If you are limited to most aspects in a game and you want to be a poacher, then you should be a great one. He needs to have better understanding of where he should move and when to make runs into the box. Our wingers are sending plenty of good crosses into the box but he is rarely meeting any. You might say he is not wasting enough chances but he struggles to get himself in good positions. Always a step behind, covered by a defender, or easily dispossesed. He aint 12m player.

Mostly Merda/Atalanta attackers wont come to this situation, I dont see their attackers put their body to the defender, they will win by the first touch and get control of the ball in front, the defender behind can either tackle them and this will be clearly seen as penalty or just doing nothing, so they will have space to shoot

The only players that doing this kind of shit probably only Lukakum but I see him dont fall down on those kind of marking, and he will shoot the ball while he fall his body to the side to add more power
