In general there is an abundance of shit footballers these days. In comparison to the 90s and 00s...this has to be the shittest era in terms of world class players.
athletes dominate the sport, while in the 90s and even early 00s it was players. the old outstanding talents like pirlo or zidane would easily shine through currently too, but some current ones who are considered as a top player like foden, camavinga or valverde wouldn't be protagonists and would be easily forgotten even after a few good seasons

we remember the artists. ronaldinho, zidane, original ronaldo, del piero, kaká highlights are fun to watch. i really cannot mention 3 current top players that can provide that level of entertainment

Agreed. It's a lot of factors though, imagine having original ronaldo and telling him he has to press up and down the field for 90 minutes, or ronaldinho, riquelme, batistuta and so on. It would never happen. Also a lot of money at stake so players dont have freedom to try something crazy, i remember di maria did a rabona at Juve and half the forum went crazy that he didn't choose a simple finish to score.

imo thats not true that there isn't top players anymore . it's just that you are nostalgic for days when top players played in serie a. there are still top players, they just don't play in serie a . salah, halaand, vinicius, kane, mbappe, yamal, lewandowksi, modric, kroos who are top players now would still be top players in the 90s and 00s. you are just selective choosing.

also it's only been 2 years since messi and ronaldo were in europe top leagues. let's not forget about the two best of all time.

I'm really not sure if this is an attempt at trolling or not.

Vlahovic is a monster and extending his contract should be our highest priority. He's 24 and only getting better. He can continue to play his best football for another 5 or 6 years. We should sell him at 29, not at 25.

Apart from Ronaldo he is the best striker we've had since Tevez. Higuain was subpar apart from his first season.
:lol2:

Not sure what inspired you to writte this post but thank you for a good laugh. Id take current version of Higuain over Dusan 10/10 times. This guy even when he got fat, moved more gracefully than Dusan ever will. His movement and ball control were exquisite, as was his ability to find a net from a very difficult place. He needed very little space to work his magic. Compared to Higuain, Dusan is a cumbersome oaf that needs countless of touches to control the ball and prepare himself for a shot. Some of his misses are comical. Im tired of him, sell at the end of season.

JJ ruined him. He still had a lot to give even in his 30s but Agnelli and Tici had other fancier(and stupider) ideas.
Think some was also his own fault as he didn't look after himself.
Well both are true imo... Reminded me of fat Ronaldo under Ancelotti. Couldn't run but kept on scoring. I would have taken a bet on Higuain doing the same...
