I gifed three pics, one for each of his weakness.

First one: can't run with the ball
Second one: awful first touch
Third one: a bit nitpicking but should have handled it better to shoot with his preferred foot. I can easily imagine Tevez, Dybie and Higuain convert that chance.
The first gif annoyed the fuck out of me. Iirc there was something similar in the 1st half. He should not run with a ball at his feet. Should pass the ball as soon as possible to basically any of his teammates. He will do okay this year but I dont think he is the type of forward to fit Motta's system. Player like Osimhen though...

First one: Not everybody can. His real fault there was not releasing Conceicao and then getting himself in a goalscoring position.
Second: Agree, he should have done better, but he had the same issue as all last year: our lack of any other credible threat in the attack means he is smothered. First two games he had load of space and time because other team was having to hedge their bets. Even with a good touch he was stuck.
Third: Should have done better maybe, but again look how quickly he has FOUR players on him closing down the angle. Would you have preferred him to shoot into their legs?

There was also an even more annoying sequence where he got the ball in a good position inside the box with only one defender on him and instead of turning and shooting right away like any lethal striker would he instead waited too long and made a sideways pass to Cambiaso who was also in the box, only for him to try and cross it back but got blocked.

This type of game doesn't favour Dusan. No space to operate, isolated, can't create for himself & can't assist for others. Really highlighted all of his weaknesses.

First One, agree he should pass it faster not bring it and try to move forward with ball. Third one, he also can opt to pass and made through pass for Conceicao.

His decision is atrocious in these 2 moments.

I’m one of the biggest critics of Vlahovic but yesterday everyone sucked. I’m more pissed off when we misses stupid 1:1s or penalties.

Against Roma we didn’t even have a sniff of a chance at scoring, one of the worst offensive displays so I’ll give him a pass.

Maybe we can agree that he should improve his game by reading the situation better, understand the positioning of opponents and teammates. This'll help him make quicker decisions upon receiving the ball.

Honestly he's a classic Centre Forward. Ronaldo and Messi have ruined perceptions of what should be expected of forwards. Dribbling isn't his job, holding up play and distribution to playmakers is. He should be making better decisions, but he needs options available. First two games we attacked as a team and he looked good because he had options available and was able to take them. Against Roma our attack looked limp af, isolating Dusan. Then after 60 minutes when we still haven't scored the pressure is on him and he's more likely to try and make something happen by himself. Roma realised this and continued to isolate him by surrounding him with defenders.

All of this is part of the process of figuring out our game, which is Motta's job. Fully confident that he will bang 25+ goals this season. If he doesn't he has to go, but he will.

Agree but also disagree.
Being a decent, not even great, forward means he should be able to hold on to the ball and win some fouls or find a pass. He does neither.
Also, as mentioned by someone before, he looks like he doesnt have the killer instinct more often than not, add to that the fact that he sometimes misses sitters, well, you have a pretty good but not great or world class player.
Certainly not a 70m footballer or a 12m wage.

agree.

people need to stop blaming vlahovic. this is on motta. motta had all summer to work with him to improve his decision making and first touch.

Why so everyone rating my post funny? How is this a joke? Is it not the coach’s job to work on strikers weakness?

Or was that criticism only for allegri?
