He will be earning 12M net from this July. Isn't that in the same ballpark as Harry Kane's salary?

What a pathetic deal from Bini-Bene. This is why for some reason, I'm not that optimistic we'll retain him.

I'd be really surprised if he agrees to significantly lower his salary (even if we spread the wages) which is what it'd take to keep him here.

That's a significant cut. Would be surprised if he agreed to that.
Then again, apart from Saudi teams, I don't see him getting anywhere close to that €12M figure at any other European team. Even €8M net is a pretty steep wage tbf.

Right now, it's €12M net until 2026 and they're spreading his wages by offering a longer contract.

Good sign that he's keen to stay for the long term. But, at the same time, if he continues scoring he would get his money back with any number of potential moves for his next salary. Chelsea would probably give him an 18-year contract at 15m p/a.

But from his perspective, he can stay at Juve for a couple of years, leave for free at the end of two years when he'll be in his prime years, and even if he makes 8m at his next club, he'll come out significantly ahead. The initial contract is probably worse than the De Ligt deal. We have no wiggle room and are completely at the mercy of the player.

Imo we'll try and force a sale if he doesn't agree to paycut.

JJ cost-cutting project is in full flow atm. We just closed the financial year at a loss of €200M.

Got Allegro's settlement reduced from €18-€20M to a reported €4M.

Got Raguni to agree to a 50% paycut.

Offering Chiesa an extension with same or lower salary. Doing the same with Fagiot (only because of the growth decree). Actively shopping Szczesny(the other top earner in our squad).

Now asking Vlahovic to take a paycut and spread his salary over multiple years.

Usually these situations don't end well but we seem desperate to reduce the wage bill.

I agree we’ll likely try and force a sale if he doesn’t agree to a pay cut, but I thought it was next summer his wages would rise to 12 mill?
If it’s this summer, we then we need to get an answer from him now. Seems like deals are moving on the available strikers that could be an alternative. Zirkzee to Milan etc.
We might end up empty handed, or with Kean and Milik as our strikers…

Capitano Vlahovic?
Don’t think he has the maturity nor the consistency needed for such a big responsibility, it’s likely not even being considered yet by the club, maybe a couple of more years down the line he could sure be in contention if he eventually renews on the new revised terms and proves his loyalty.
