Yes of course we can wait. I can just express my worries can't I?
And others can express their excitement, without you calling it weird, can’t they?

It’s the internet. People giving you shit for downplaying this, you giving people shit for rating this guy as 3rd best young striker in footie, it’s gonna happen.

We also have three very promising young CMs out on loan right now. Rovella having been one of the best young CMs in Serie A this year and Fagioli being the best CM in Serie B this year according to @DanielSz

Wasn't this the CR7 wage money that we had budgeted until he left at the last moment? Ronaldo made about 65mil before tax

That is probably the only reason this transfer is happening we just couldn't spend the money in time during the summer
Serie A TV deal is not improving, we are getting less CL money because other teams are less shitty and we are seriously risking missing out on a CL spot altogether. Ronaldo wage might be gone but so is whatever commercial revenue we were getting from him. So I can't look at it like we suddenly have 60m more to spend. Revenues are affected too.

It feels like I'm replying to a mob. Ffs I'm not against him because he's not Haaland. I'm not even against him at all. But don't come crying when we can't get a decent midfielder or LB when boss says we're poor.
that's a completely legit remark. i also share that, but it's on the management, not the player.

all your "who's half of europe, arsenal and spurs?" stuff and the comparison with haaland was unnecessary.

Conversely, Fiorentina are outperforming their xGoals by +5 entirely due to this guy. Whereas we are underperforming are xGoals by -5 entirely due to Morty and Kean. Even if this guy took us to 0 we’d be top 4 right now. We create more chances than they do and score less.

You're wrong. I'm not giving people shit because they're comparing him to Haaland. I'm giving shit to people who say this is a very good transfer business. I don't think it is since it costs too much and is very risky.
Haaland argument was a side one. It's not a shame not being like him since he's a generational talent.

You could argue that the risk of us missing out on CL is exactly why we are splurging money now.

And no one is saying that’s not true. All big transfers are risky. But they are also generally how you get in demand, top young players who are already performing at a very high level. So it’s also entirely fair to think this is a very good transfer covering a gaping black hole that has been made very obvious this season.

Then or now? Then it was a no brainer, now it wouldn't be plugging hole. Also i am not sure if you want us to address all our needs in this window or by the end of the summer, if it's the latter, let's wait and see.
Now. Why not? He scores goals. Much more proven than Vlahovic too.
I think more prudent management is to improve the team is more areas than one. Of course I don't expect a full rebuild in January.

We signed a lot of commercial deals and increased existing ones eg Adidas, when Ronaldo was here. These didn't automatically stop when he left us and are still in place.

We also had the 2 capital increases which have helped stabilise the losses and I'm sure are a factor in us being able to bid.

Everything has a risk. But we really struggle to score goals and this guy has proven he's very good at it with limited weaknesses and huge potential. I think under Allegri we are going to forever play scrappy games with solid defensive organization, so even if we have limited chances in front of goal we now have someone who can hopefully convert for us. If you look at his goals, he can score around the six as a poacher, via headers, and also through traffic with his left foot. Perfect striker for a side like ours.

That was a legitimate question not a remark.
I did not compare him to Haaland. I don't think he's in Haaland level and there's no shame in that.
