I don’t think he deserves all the pressure and hate he’s getting. The main culprit here is the previous management, who tied him to such a hefty salary. If he had been on 5-6 million, none of these issues would probably have arisen. He’s really worth the salary of a 5-6 million striker, and you could count on at least 15 goals from him each season. I just don’t understand how we agreed on this contract, a young player coming from Fiorentina after one good season, why were we paying him so much? He surely would’ve joined the team for half that amount. We really overpaid in a bizarre way.

Don't know about that. Many teams were after him and it was a winter mercato but way too high ofc and a contract with those insanely high numbers in the final contract year is always a mistake. Hopefully lesson learned...

Good header. His overall play is much better too, although did have one terrible pass that started their counter.

I stand by that his biggest issue is mentality. It looks like us pushing for him to leave and not many clubs being interested his switched something for him.
Not starting games also relieved some of the pressure on him possibly. He can continue being our super sub if he's doing it like this.

Once the season goes on and teams figure us out, I expect this guy to trend back to the norm. Both Parma and Genoa lost key players at the back and the smaller sides usually tighten up after several rounds. We shouldn’t be getting used to this sort of performance from him. He’s going to be out regardless.
