Higgy was elite for like 1 season for us. In the 2nd season he scored 16 goals in 35 games in the league, that’s something that the likes of Boriello or Matri could manage as well, hardly elite performance like prime Higuain or Quagliarella.
He arrived here too late, yes. Higuain in his prime, both for Real and Napoli, especially for Napoli was several levels above Dusan.

Higuain always failed in big matches, just look at his stats in CL matches at Juve and WC where he missed 100% chance against Germany in the final.

As opposed to Dusan, who cant even get a call for his NT and even if called up, he comes off the bench... Serbia vs Argentina you know, kinda different level. If you are trying to make comparison between the 2, dont. Higuain was all round striker, that in addition to scoring was able to create chances for himself and his teammates.

both are overrated but paying 90m for Higuain was a stupid decision, I feel like he ate that 90 million we got from selling Pogba.

90m for 29 yo was always a poor decision. But Higuain wasnt overrated. He was elite forward that has been scoring 30-35 goals per season for several years in a row. 90m for that level of performances was understandable. However, considering his age, that was a short term investment. But 70m (?) for Dusan was supposed to be long term investment considering his age. So far we have not seen good return of our investment and chances are we wont. He is far too limited to break into elite category.

The wages is the problem with Dusan, if he’d be on 5m instead of 10+, we’d have options to recoup most of that investment whenever we wanted. We basically gambled that he’d have a Haaland type of growth with that contract and he didnt

Higuain was one half away from helping us win a treble. Elite striker for over a decade. 90M was a lot, but he was one of the deadliest strikers at a high level around.

Vlahovic for 90M was absurd.

RE Higuain - let's not forget that Napoli almost beat us to the title, Higuain had just broken the Serie A season goals record, so by signing him we weakened a direct rival.

vlahovic is getting lots of shit for what exactly?

for weah, sandro, and kostic creating tons of chances for him?

you guys think halaand would not struggle in that team? or kane?

so what if he missed a chance? thats normal. once his team mates adapt he will score 20+ goals in league alone.

No doubt that the signing of Vlahovic for 70m was not a clever decision by Juve, also same about Higuain as he was aging at that time. But the point is that Higuain came to a team that won league title consecutively for over 4 years, we had a better squad at the time with Pjanić, Marchisio, Matuidi and Dybala and he literally carried by Dybala. He never was a game changer and simply failed against big clubs in important matches.

Here’s the goals Higuain scored against big teams:
2016-17: Fiorentina x2, Napoli x4,Torino x3, Roma, Lazio, Lyon, Monaco x2
2017-18: Atalanta x3, Milan x2, Napoli, Fiorentina, Inter, Sporting, Tottenham x3
2019-20: Napoli, Inter, Atalanta, Roma

Way I see it is attacking players deserve more leniency because his sample size is allegri ball. Not a great indicator in my opinion .

Since he will perform this season easily we will all forget about past performance
Agree with this. Time will tell.

10 is still outrageous.
Agree. Lautaro's wages are in the same ballpark and he's the best player in Serie A. Vlahovic doesn't even come close.

He needs to have an elite season this year to justify paying even 10M let alone 12M net. We're talking about 30+ goals in all competitions.

He definitely has the ability to become a prolific goalscorer but last game exposed the same problems he had when Allegro was manager as well.

I think with him it's mostly more mental than an issue with skillsets. He tries to overdo things that clouds his decision making. With Allegro, we were barely any creating any chances so I can understand when he was trying to do a bit too much all by himself.

Hopefully having a better midfield/better support now helps him relax a little bit and just focus on finishing those goalscoring opportunities. He's going to have plenty of chances this season so there should be no excuses.

Ur already criticizing Yildiz for doing very well, yet u defend Vlahovic? Are u even watching our games? If there is one weak point in the attack currently it is Vlahovic, not Yildiz. Kenan was our best player in attack by far. Dusan on other hand is continuing to be unable to score more than his expected goals stat tells us. Thats probably the first thing u would expect from ur highly paid striker.

Tottenham are obviously not a big club.

Good call though.

But if I'm honest to me Lichtsteiner really changed the flow of that game. We were suffering and almost eliminated. Then Lichtsteiner comes on and first thing he does is give Son a bodycheck out of nowhere. I mean, the ball was somewhere around Son, but it sure as hell wasn't very close and he was definitely not the player in possession. La Gazzetta even wrote about it the next day, saying Tottenham immediately understood "l'aria è cambiata" (the air has changed).

EDIT:

Actually found the article: https://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Seri...scadenza-entra-cambia-juve-250775631674.shtml

"Poi quando nella ripresa c'è stato da sistemare la squadra, ecco Licht. Subito un battibecco proprio con Son, per far capire al coreano che l'aria è cambiata." - "Then when they had to sort out the team in the second half, here was Licht. Immediately some bickering with Son, to make the Korean understand that the situation has changed."
