the good: strength, grinta, keeps defenders busy, intelligent positioning, versatility, age, hamsumness
the bad: meh efficiency, rugani put him in his pocket, costs
the ugly: the one he tore to arsenal :hihi:

one of the most impressive winter transfers i can recall. welcome, be good.
I don't get the impressiveness of this thing. We pretty much met the asking price and made him one of the highest earners in the team at the age of 21.
I'm hoping he succeeds but this is indeed a very risky business

At the numbers that are being mentioned, this is a very risky deal.
I know beggars can't be choosers, but still.

Let's hope for the best :xfingers:
Considerably less riskier than the Ronaldo deal or even the Higuain one though. He's young, so he will have resale value even if he doesn't become great here. Morata went for ~75mil to Chelsea and then just for a little less to Atletico.

The last good winter transfer we had where we bought a starter was SIssoko, in 2008 or something. Just the fact that we are actually filling a hole that needs to be filled in the middle of the season is what makes it impressive.

He's been a top striker for 1.5 seasons now and was going to get paid so him becoming one of our top earners isn't insane to think. Especially since in 4 years at 25 he'll be making 7m and a fully established striker hopefully. That pales in comparison to say Haaland who is rumored to be asking 15m NET or Mbappe or Neymar.

Commisso even agreeing to negotiate with us is a victory in itself.
We paid him one year worth of Viola revenue. Why would he care?

One out of many, and arguably not the most urgent one.

Getting one of the top talents in the world to fill a hole mid season. We are in 5th place with possible no CL next season. Commisso didnt want to sell to us and had to. This is a great transfer and one that shows intention and also future results by not getting strikers with few years left of service.
