This is epic. With Amauri pretty much a lock (if that jinxes it, I'll be fine), Secco declares interest in another forward. Logically, this can't be true, and the Drenthe rumour surely cannot be true either. I'd take Molinaro over Drenthe at left-back any day. What Juve Red said about Drenthe is dead on.

If Secco and Co. plan on chasing offensive players, then they better be aiming for five goals a game because this shakey backline is going to be a sieve.

Cannavaro, who won two (revoked) Scudetti during his two years at Juve from 2004 to 2006, had dinner with current Bianconeri sporting director Secco.

There he told the much-maligned transfer man to launch a bid for his out-of-favour Real Madrid team-mate Drenthe.

The Whoopi Goldberg lookalike, who can play at full-back or on the wing, only signed for the Spanish giants last summer for €14m from Feyenoord.

Despite scoring a brilliant goal on his debut against Sevilla in the Spanish Super Cup, Drenthe has found first-team action hard to come by, and has largely been used as a substitute.

Brazilian youngster Marcelo, and the Argentine Gabriel Heinze have emerged as the preferred left-back options, and Drenthe has been heavily linked with a move away from the club during the summer.

It has also been reported that Sebastian Giovinco and Claudio Marchisio, who Secco was considering releasing to Palermo as part of the Amaurio deal, will both return to play for the Bianconeri next season after completing their loan spells at Empoli.

Raffaele Palladino meanwhile is almost certain to be sold, with Fiorentina a possible destination.
 amaurio

on palla i hope we dont sell him to fiorentina if we are going to sell him, i hope he stays though.

This whole Drenthe-Cannavaro-Secco story seems a little strange to me.

Assuming its not a fabrication to sell papers, why would Cannavaro have lunch with Secco, and why would he want to help him out by trying to get Secco to buy a guy that Real just bought with high hopes?

I wonder whether Secco is trying to lure Cannavaro back to Juventus quietly and all the Higuain, Drenthe, Diarra talk is a smokescreen. Personally, I don't think Canna is what he used to be and I doubt it'll go over well if true.

Pretty big assumption.

I can't see there being any truth in any of it.

La Juve guarda in casa Real e spinge per Drenthe. E come intermediario chiama in causa Cannavaro...

One of our directors had a dinner with Cannavaro to gather info about Drenthe. After praising Drenthe's technical qualities, Canna also said that Drenthe is a rather problematic guy, with low level of discipline.

Juventus Directors In Madrid For Drenthe

Reports in Italy claim that the Bianconeri are after the Los Merengues star and he could arrive in Turin as part of a loan deal.

Drenthe doesn’t seem as if he will enter Bernd Schuster’s plans for next season and Juve are ready to pounce.

It is believed that Ramon Calderon is not willing to sell the player but the Old Lady will be looking to take him on loan and SportMediaset claims Drenthe could be on his way to Serie A as early as next week as Bianconeri officials are already in Madrid to hold talks with the Santiago Bernabeu side.

The Bianconeri are currently looking for a midfielder for next season but so far they have failed to land their targets.

Drenthe would be a much easier option for the Turin based club and a loan move will suit both Real and the Italian giants.

The versatile midfielder can play in central midfield or out on the left wing and this would be an advantage for Claudio Ranieri as Drenthe would provide cover for Pavel Nedved to play in a more offensive role.

I dont like the fact its loan (probably without no buy option), but it would be very good depth for the wing position. He is quite talented offensively. He his play is little erratic and unfocused in his approach to the things (goes together with the lack of discpline mentionned above), but there is ALOT of skill there , very technical (he is a quite good talent and young, but I wouldnt deem this a big suprise).

Though he should NEVER play LB :D If we dislike Molinaro's defending... ;)

Having him would ensure we never have to see Sali playing offensive wing position :p And if Marchionni stays healthy, we dont have to rely on his average no end product performances to backup our wingers either.

P.S If it happens, the most predictable thing in the world is most of you will call him the new Davids :p

Haha yeah, its typical it works like that.

He is more of a winger then Davids, but he has still alot of similarities with him though, build, look, quick street footie dribbling feet, raw tenacity. But he is more offensively skillfull then Davids, but less hustle, even though there is similarity enough in overall.

Juve Interested in Drenthe

Blah blah, blah blah blah.

Next paragraph: The Feyenoord talent, whose hair resembles that of Edgar Davids, will likely demand a high transfer sum.

Blah blah blah, article ends.

Ooooohh, lets get him, he'll be our new Davids! :rulz: :spliff: :jvefan:
That's what it must have been like.

I think he's more talented than Davids on the ball but Drenthe hasn't reached that level yet. Davids was just sick with his tricky skill.
