Luiz is asked to step into the shoes of a leader. It will be up to him to take Juventus by the hand in the first round of the year. That's how I see it. Como is a minnow of serie a. I know one poster here disagreed last year when I posted a group backups on Juve should beat these low level squads. It's a hopefully very long season for the team. Know it's the first match, but any less wear and tear on Luiz's body over the long haul will be beneficial.
Could say it's a bit of genius on Motta's part taking advantage of seeing what Samuel could do against an inferior opponent not hampering Juve's chances to win. I assume if he played poorly to start without a Juve lead, probably would have been subbed out sooner than later. Now Motta has info on Samuel he didn't even positively know.
