Getting around €25M for McKennie and paying about €60m for Douglas Luiz is by all ways and means a no brainer in my books, guy is in his prime years and would be a guaranteed upgrade to our midfield.

Now with all that being said, i find it hard to believe it will actually happen, almost too good to be true, there will sure be strong competition for him and the only way i see him arriving here is if Juventus are truly his preferred destination and he insists for the move here instead of somewhere else that might be willing to pay both him and Aston Villa more.

Wait until it’s official. I still believe that last minute offer will arrive from top 3 teams in England

Yup, kind of concluded the same, our only chance is the player’s will and perhaps also Aston Villa continuing to be reluctant to sell to a direct rival in the Premier League…

Going to be very difficult to get this move over the line regardless.

No. Paying 60 million for a Lolzilian midfielder is never a no brainer.

Paying 15 to 20 million for a young French mid with huge upside wis, however.
What happens if that young French mid that costs only ~€20M doesn’t want to come here and chooses higher wages somewhere else though? Don’t get me wrong, i’d obviously want Thuram here too, i’d even take both if possible, but would settle for even one of them.

I think he wants to come here - his brother is in Italy, his dad "loves" Italy, and maybe sibling rivalry and the opportunity to compete for one of the historical greats will push this deal over the line.

Regarding the €60M for a lolzilian i think you are not taking into account that it will only happen if McKennie who is an easily expandable asset for us also goes the other way for ~€25M and it ultimately costs us only about €35M for someone that is lately regarded as one of the best and most complete CM’s in the PL, which happens to be in his prime years too as he only turned 26yo last month, meaning he will still hold a decent resale value for quite some time while having the potential of being an massive upgrade to our midfield.

I sure hope that will be the case, however there will be lots of competition for him though, especially with such an low transfer fee.

Luiz is good, but not that price indeed. Fofana in Monaco, Kephren Thuram in Nice, even Manu Kone in Borussia Mongladbach, Ederson Atalanta, would all be had cheaper for sure. And Thuram jr is defenitely the better player.

Luiz was fantastic 2022-2023 season, chosen as their best player. But this past season, when you watch Villa games, Kamara is clearly better then him. And even McGinn similar level. So he isnt this to die for 60-70m player for them. Just good, that price ain't it imo.

Heck if we gonna go yolo crazy with price for EPL player in a mid level club, my preferred choice would be this magician, purely for the insane show he would put on. Despite the silly clickbait clip title, this dude like the spiritual successor for Jay Jay Okocha with a dash of Neymar in his flamboyant style.
