If it was Racism then Costa still needs to be disciplined like it wasn't. No reason to react like that whatsoever.
Yep. Being racially insulted is no excuse for his behaviour. It would better explain why he completely lost his head, but all the same, there is no excuse to go off the rails in the way he did, especially over words.

If it was racism there are a thousand cameras around the stadium, one of them would have picked it up and lip translated it (i.e. Mandragora for his blasphemy or whatever lol)

Best reaction would have been to play on and immediately go to the referees after the final whistle to plead them to look into it.

You can see by Di Francesco's reaction that he knows exactly what he's doing, he went on and tried to cause bust ups with several Juve players, basically just a wind up merchant trying to salvage a mini victory with the game looking done. And yet it doesn't justify Douglas Costa's ridiculous reaction, especially as it was he who scythed down Di Francesco in reaction to a minimal contact between the two at the other end.

Come on, let’s get off our high horses. He did a very bad thing and should receive a long suspension/fine but let’s not say he should be kicked off the team because of it. He has no history of this behavior.

This. Allegri just mentioned the same in his post-match interview. That Sassuolo was trying to provoke at the end when we started trying to dribble through their team, but it doesn't justify Costa's reaction in the slightest.

That's very low tho,and Juve don't tolerate this kind of behaviour . Will see what happens.

I am still dumbfounded by what he did. So so disappointed. And he will be probably suspended for at least 5 games (deservingly). I have never seen such behaviour by Juve player.
Nothing excuses this.
