Did you hear or read somewhere how anyone from Juve says that we're after him?
Only his agent said Juve are after him. As far as i know, he might have been already in contact with Milan and he was trying to raise Mattioni's price.

Our directors always tell which are the players we're after and we always know who are we going to sign because Secco, Gigli, Blanc or Ranieri will repeat it at least 10 times.
If they said that we're after Mattioni and i missed it, then you have a point, they lost the bidding war to Milan. But if they never said that we're after him, then what makes you think we were after him?
They really say it ten times? I'd say that's an over-exaggeration. For instance, I don't recall much talk when we signed Tiago, if any at all.

Only Andrade came out of the blue. We knew about all the others much earlier. How many times you heard them talk about Amauri? It was April when Ranieri said that we're very much interested in Amauri but he didn't have to convince us to buy him this way (after the match vs Palermo). They couldn't stop talking about Flamini, Milito and Xabi Alonso (Flamini and Milito are the ones we did lose). They couldn't stop talking about our youngsters and how we're gonna bring them back. Even before we bought Poulsen we read that Ranieri likes him a lot. We knew about Sissoko for more than half a year before we bought him.
Tiago and Almiron were also very well known targets and i don't feel like searching through the 2007 summer mercato threads to prove it.

But we didn't hear a single word about this guy. Maybe we changed tactics (i'd like this to be true) and now we don't tell everyone who are we going to sign, but if we didn't then it's possible that we weren't even looking at this guy.

Why are you so happy that we didn't buy Mattioni? You know SA football more than all of us here and if you know him i'd like to hear more about the guy.
havent seen him play, but considering how much money he was gonna cost and the fact hes more of a luxury considering our situation and obvious needs it would have been a bad decision regardless of how he turn out.

A bad decision regardless of how he turned out? Weird, does that mean a bad decision even if he turned out to be great? Perhaps you mean it would have been an unnecessary risk considering our needs, and what we would have cost, due to him being an unknown factor, and not a proven player.

But yeah, nothing to regret since I dont know the player. But I hope we didnt lose out on a quality player, thats all.

And I concur with Jack that I hope we get Ivanovic :)

You're angry because we didn't buy a guy none of you ever saw and none of you ever heard before the newspapers mentioned him one month ago? A player who played 19 official matches in his career and most of them as a reserve?

Maybe one day he will become a great player or a very good player, but maybe he'll be forgotten like thousands of other young players before him, who never made it.

I'm really interested to know why are you all so angry? Do you know what do we miss by not signing this guy?

I can't say I'm partiularly bothered by this. If we were in for Mattioni and pulled out, I won't blame Secco, because I think that players owned by agents are more trouble than they are worth.

Raiola: "Mattioni in recent days seemed rather close to Juventus. "There were other clubs interested, but his dream has always been AC Milan,"

Fat bastard.

I don't know why, but this situation reminds me a lot about the other fullback, portugeese guy who ended at Roma. Do I need to remind that actually nevr played for them and that he is on loan...
