I think we sold Berardi back to Sassuolo so that they would consider him their star player. This would lead to the greatest development possible, and ultimately a call from Beppe. But please, everybody calm down - he's a great talent but most of everything this kid is hyped because of his passport.

If anything, Dybala's hype was based primarily on his passport. Berardi has done what Dybala did in one season for THREE seasons in a row. With less support than Dybala had from Vazquez's good year.

ItalJuve is the number one reason people hype Berardi. So that we can have an Juve Azzurri. I like this thought as well. But only if the players truly are the best possible candidates to join Juve. It seems to me, some people will rather have a 4/5 star rated player with Italian passport then a 5/5 star rated player of, say, Mexican passport. This is absurd thinking!

I won't go into detail on the primary differences between Dybala and Berardi because to me it's rather obvious. I can sum up my point by saying Dybala has the skills only few have, whereas "Berardi's" are more common.

Ah, yes, the armchair "obvious qualities" argument. Well, Mr. Professional Scout, I don't know how to respond to your "obvious" qualities assertation. I too have never seen an "obviously" talent player not become world class once deemed an "obvious" talent.
And I'll add that I had reservations when we were rumored to sign him, mixed with hope that he fulfills his promise because FORZA JUVE but let's not talk as if Dybala is a super star here. Or even close. Nor is Berardi. They're both young, talented forwards.
2012-present, Berardi scores more, assists more. He also has another year of professional football more than Dybala despite being younger. He has better techique, less flair (when you say qualities for Dybala you mean dribble and flair because it's about the only thing he does better than Berardi by any measure). Berardi plays more positions (CF, SS, RW) to Dybala (SS). Berardi doesn't get pushed off the ball like Dybala. Berardi is more physical (too physical often, look at his cautions) but he also has been made the leader of a club below his talent for his entire career so far. He has never had the service Dubala had at Palermo and has now at Juve. NEVER. And look what he's done. While sharing striker duties with Zaza who, despite his deficiencies, scored goals at Sassuolo.
Berardi scores at a higher average, scores against better competition.

Totally not getting that young Argentinian hype, future Messi hype, fancy flair South American hype.
Again, I have hope for Dybala and he's looked good so far. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. And let's not discount a PROVEN three year gosl scorer in Berardi for a flancy, promising one year scorer who has always had the support in Dybala. Give Berardi Vazquez for a year and watch haha and if you think it's JUST a "he's Italian" thing, you're missing it.

Mostly good albeit onesided points, except Berardi is yet to play CF, while Dybala has played it for couple of years. Berardi is an RW that drifts in, he has played in only a 4-3-3 and on the right for all seasons in his club and for the Azzurrini so far. Also he has excellent technique, but not really better at all, would say Dybala has the edge. And the physical part, its one of Berardi's weaknesses, he runs alot and off the ball in very smart ways (his best asset besides the mean left/finishing skills), but he is completely not a fighter when pressured, in fact he opts to dive way too much and doesnt really commit much to protected himself with the ball (the yellows are more for his work rate and ill disciplined when trying to win back balls). Thats something Dybala does more, he fights in duels and stays up as much as possible, despite being quite clearly weakish. It helps that he has more of a burtst of accelaration then Berardi does. Who I figure opts for dives/looks for freekicks plenty because he is not much a natural dribbler when caught in a tight spot/not too much of a speedster, so he if he cant cut in and shoot/cross/pass back when covered, he tends to go for the 2nd best which is look to be fouled/get a freekick.
