Can anyone elaborate on the Berardi business? We purchased him outright and then sold half his contract to Sass. What were the figures?
2013 - co-ownership swap with Marrone (valued at €4.5m)
2015 - can buy remaining half for €15m from June 1st-10th, or €20m after that

We also since bought the other half of Marrone back for €0.5m plus Peluso (total value €5m).

we bought him for 9M (sold half immediately for 4.5M) payable in 5 years in 2013. renewed co-ownership in 2014. can buy his other half for 15M in 2015. thats a total spending of 19.5M (not counting Marrone as we bought him back already)

Penalties that he more or less earns himself, so let's get that right as well.

He is also their free kick taker, and their corner kick taker.

How many 20 year olds out there have that type of responsibility? What does that say about the faith his coaches have in him?

So you are saying that he is not worth 15 milion.

What I find so very humorous is that a lot of people were so very eager to drop nearly 30 million on Iturbe, but are so very reluctant to drop around half of that on a younger, better, more experienced player than Iturbe.

I'm trying to see the logic in all of this.

To everyone who is upset about the 15m price tag, what would the going rate be for a winger/SS who is 20 years old who is on pace for a 12 goal, 12 assist campaign after having a 16 goal season last year?

I'm just curious, because everyone keeps talking about the price tag for this kid, and it seems that they are forgetting that he is a really good, really young player here.

So again I ask, what is the going rate?

And none of this "Oh noes, we are paying to bring our own player back, yada yada yada" because he was never ours to begin with.
 and both of them are better than him

last season 16 goals, 5 penalties. this season 6 goals, 2 penalties. hardly can call that "half his goals"

agree. i think people are not so excited about him because we already own him and there is nothing "new and shiny" about him. but some dont appreciate neither his work over the last 2 seasons, nor Marottas work in bringing him here...

fuck off sassuolo

we ought to just submit a lower fee when it comes to ironing out the co owns say about 10 mill and get berardi home already. Knowing marotta though he will pay over the odds like he did with giovinco just to keep the other club sweet
"As for Berardi, they have the right to get him for €15m in the first 10 days of June, €20m after that."

15 million, as per the agreement. What's wrong with that?

Nothing is wrong with it. badass has his conspiracy theory quota he needs to meet daily, that's all that was.

How many times do you plan on making that "joke"?
it's not a joke, actually it will be the sad truth in good time

Berardi is a biggest italian young talent and we don't have to pay all 15m for him since we have a lot of decent players who Sassuolo would like to sign, only moron could be against this move
like who? and if this is true we'd probably have signed zaza in January

Berardi played as a SS last year and he's miles ahead of Morata.
This is garbage man, mostly due to comparing two different players.

Under Di Francesco Berardi plays RWF in 433. SS was an occasional thing only.

So if we want both Zaza and Berardi in the summer we need 30 million.

No way we will pay that.
We will. It will be paid in many installments though :p

i wouldn´t worry too much about beardi´s "true position". when you look at us when we are playing 4312 with pereyra as CAM, you can see him playing almost as RW half the time.
pretty much the opposite goes for berardi in sassuolo´s 433, who is frequently moving towards the middle. i´m pretty sure he will fit.

as for the 15m, it´s still only an option. we might be able to bring it down a bit but this obviously depends on his second half of the season and on possible suitors for him.
i´m almost positive that this won´t be going to envelopes and that we will see him here next season. apparently we were pushing hard to get him last summer but he prefered to stay at sassuolo for another season (@threadtitle).

zaza looks like a done dealio too. really looking forward to seeing both of them playing for juve :xfinger:, together with rugani :tuttosport:.

finally, i have no idea what this will mean for our available summer budget. i keep hearing about cl earnings, adidas money etc. but for me it´s still a complete mystery :p.

Berardi's half was exchanged for Marrone's half.

Then Marotta exchanged Marrone's half for Peluso.

I mean, we actually were able to get rid of Peluso and got half Berardi for nothing.

So the total money actually spent on him will be of a grand total of 15M. Decent to good business.

Zaza should value around 12M right now. But if he goes on a scoring spree till the end of the season 15M will be fair.
