Oh yeah? Then I believe that ridiculous ideas are worthy of ridicule!

There may be no proof for that, but logically, the concept of god has to come before the unbeliever. If not, then the nonbeliever will have nothing to not believe. :D
If that's what you believe like I said that's fine. Big difference my belief in God doesn't hurt anyone your ridicule does

I was just messing with you, AC! :D

But I hope you agree with why the concept of god came first, and why the burden of proof is on the one making the claim and not the one rejecting it based on the strength of the claims made.

It seems as though the second premise would seem the most accurate although i still don't see how you can require hat proof when neither side has it. Ps
We're all good man :D

Because proof compels me to believe. It's precisely why I don't believe in god: because there is no evidence. Proof is the standard by which I will assess all claims. And I'll make no exceptions, especially with god.

Well then for you when and if you find that proof is part of your journey. For me the proof is of experiences and times in my life when I knew someone was with me. It's hard to express what that feels like to one who has not experienced it but it is breath taking

I've never had any experience that you speak of. Maybe that's what god wants of me. Maybe god has forsaken me. Maybe god doesn't exist. It's difficult to tell when he does nothing.

Maybe if you read scripture you would see that " thou shall not put the lord thy God to the test" expecting him to prove himself is when he won't. God doesn't forsake we forsake him

That contradicts Matthew 7:7: Ask, and it shall be given to you. :)

Oh, and god CAN forsake. He's omnipotent, remember?

Edit: Matthew 7:8: "For everyone who asks receives."

Everyone.

Asking with a contrite heart for the right reasons is one thing also no he doesnt forsake. It's the same thing with hell. He doesn't condemn us to it we choose it by our way of life but that's another discussion and topic :)

God is omniscient. So he knows my intentions why I ask for proof of him. If he created me, then he knows that nothing other than proof will change my mind. If he cares if I believe in him, then he knows how to make that happen. We both want the same thing, but he's not willing to do what needs to be done.

First of you don't know that he might have sent you a million proofs you just didn't see them. Your at a point where only his apparition would prove you ala Thomas but not many people get graced with that my friend.

Exactly. I don't know it. But what's the point of sending such proofs when I cannot identify and acknowledge them? You are better than this god you're proposing because you identified that nothing more than solid, irrefutable proof will convince me. :D

The real question here is, why would God care enough to prove his existence to Sheik? He'd rather prove it to actual important figures, like the President of the US, Mitt Romney, and the Pope.

It's not about it being a challenge. It's just that God is gonna be like "What do I get from showing Sheik I exist? It's not like he'll jerk off any less."
