You can believe this or not but a friend of mine was molested by a priest when he was younger and he is now a monsigner in the church and an awesome priest. He found light from that darkness and didn't hold God responsible for the darkness perpetrated by that priest. So out of the dark he saw the light and overcame that evil and became a great beacon of light. So this is what I mean. Out of that darkness some might blame God etc he chose to see that God wasn't the reason he was molested. That person wasn't of God even though he proclaimed it didn't make it true
Sounds like jibberish to me.

It just makes so much more sense to believe that god does not exist than to believe that this god would make random, irrational, illogical decisions and somehow, it's all planned for and it'll all turn out to be good.

I love these 'trolling god' memes.

 Brilliant!

ESPECIALLY the 8th day dinosaur thingie, guessing right, free will one and the homosexuality one.

Its crazy how some religious people, act like their god is a lovely chap, who only does good.

It should be clear to them (if they've read their holy book), that he's a mass murdering, trolling, dictator who rules with an iron fist.

And about those dinosaur bones, one lad I know, who is religious, believes god put them their, to test our 'belief', basically, he believes god, is trying to make us not believe in him, but deep down, hopes we will still believe in him...

I know right, its counter productive to say the least, the good lord is contributing to his own downfall.
If god really does exist, and cares whether we believe in him, then he shot himself in the foot by granting us free will.

"Hey guys. I want you to believe in me. But oh wait, I'm gonna give you free will, which may also make you NOT believe in me".

It just goes to show, that some (many) religious people, will find a way to tie everything into their religion. To them, nothing can prove that their religion is bullshit.
:agree: It's the bias I've been talking about in the last few pages, and to some extent demonstrated by Andrea.

All religious people, put up shoddy arguments, they will spout some philosphical bullshit in respone to a valid, solid argument, whilst not directly answering your question.

How they can still believe is beyond me.

Hopefully in the near future, the vast majority of people won't be religious.

How do you expect anyone to take you seriously in any debate. You're like a child who just got their toy taken away
I wasn't trying to debate, I was joining in with matador before i went to bed. Theres no point trying to debate with people that have taken a logical falicy to heart because they were born into a belief - when that falicy has taken place there is nothing i can say because you can just convince yourself of anything - 'god moves in mysterious ways' being the standard falicy.

Man this is still going on?

I've learnt that there is absolutely no benefit from these discussions long ago. But it used to be quite interesting back in the day when it was back and forth between Martin, Juve Rev and occasionally Ze Tahir. Now its just a bunch of people trolling, and the religious minority(in these discussions they're a minority) trying to defend their beliefs. No real debate happening.

My comments weren't directed at anyone in particular. I was commenting on the general nature of this thread these days, its just become a trolling match between the two sides.
