The name of YAhweh was not to be pronounced so they would use Gomar Oz Dubar to speak of YHWH, the meaning is Wisdom, strength and Beauty three of GOD's main traits. Later on the initials G. O. D became the word God
Whose initials did the Germans use for the word Gott? The Dutch for God, The Danes, Norwegians, Swedes for Gud, the Icelandic for Guð or the proto-germanic word for God, ǥuđan?

There are many people in the upper echelons of society that strongly believe in God.

Like I said previously, we will never come up with a 100% convincing argument either for or against God. It's a matter of belief, it's a matter of a Human beings innate nature in that they want to know, "where did I come from, what am I here for and where am I going?"

Science cannot answer those questions because it's not interested in the first place.

Where the hell did you get that conclusion from? Science provides plenty of answers, you just don't agree with it.

That's my opinion on the matter. Science tells us how rain falls to the earth, how it evaporates and creates clouds, and how it helps sustain life, but it never considers why. Science is important to us but meaningless on the big questions of life. Religion creates meaning in life.

Not if it's fake.
Go through this entire thread. Only the atheists are regularly making rude, belittling, remarks including swearing. A good reflection on the type of person atheism generally creates.

Well no because the term GOD was originally used in english speaking countries, when they started translating scriptures, in other languages the words would translate differently from the hebrew
:lol2:

This would make sense if Arabic, Hebrew, or Aramaic were written in Angle-European lettering.

Reflection on the world around us points clearly to intelligent design.

Some will always believe in this, others will always not.
Please.

Why do we have a tailbone(coccyx), the appendix(remnants of our herbivore past) and one passway to both breathe and ingest, for us to choke?

That's quite some design, isn't it?

Evolution is a fact, people trying to disprove it are just wasting their time.
