How do you objectively rate how wise and rich the book is? By making a poll? :D
You said it was majestic, not wise nor rich.

And if we are to put it to an objective test, lets see what the contents are. The Bible is a universalist scripture which commands of you to do this this and this in order to escape this this and this penalty. Furthermore it uses terminology without giving propper definitions to them.
Aristotelean writing: texts which are composed in face of problems which you need to understand fully, and it's terminology, in order to fully comprehend what it is about. Furthermore, it's not an instruction, it's a thought process that you can replicate (if you understand it) and apply to other situations.

Technicaly not well written? Why does it even matter. I really liked aristotle, but we will differ on this here and there is no point in continuing on this. If you put an emphasis that bible is not technicaly written well and use it as an argument against it, I don't see any point in continueng this :)
Just trying to quantify pitbull's argumen that the bible is majestic -> ancient men could not have written it alone -> proof of god.

I had philosophy as my C course last year and had to read some of it. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention, but reading it was a burden. I've never found philosophy interesting (I study economics).
Economics... Me too, the most boring thing ever. I would rather talk about flowers and why we are here any day over the meaningles ups and downs of economics.

everything has its place, but most of it should stay inside ones head and not be uttered.

fair enough. Though to him it might be majestic and you will never be able empiricly test it, does this make it untrue? :D Who says that something is majestic, good, bad, beauiful then, whos the judge?

1) the oldest surviving manuscript for the old testament is the 9th century BCE
2) by objective criteria Aristotle is a much more accomplished writer than whoever dotted down the bible
How is this even possible?
1) If you say so. That's still way older than Aristotle.
2) Accomplished as in well educated or well bred? How the fuck does that objectively show anything?

How is it even possible that someone doesn't enjoy philosophical literature? Look outside the window, I think we're pretty much the same age 20 something, am I really the first one in your path who is not a big fan of Kant or Aristotle? :D

Oh I've met people who we were not big fans of Kant or Aristotle. I've never met someone who doesn't enjoy philosophy. It means that you don't enjoy thinking about:

Mortality
Morality
Principles
Logics

to pull out 4 obvious examples.

Not mad as much as wondering if you've really read anything else :p

We are all humans, and we have inate feelings, and if you fallow them, I believe you will be alright and true to yourself and those around you. I guess that's why.

Anyway screw consumerism, in all religious and secular countires :D

Value-words are a branch of philosophy that I'm trying to read right now but failing miserably at :p . I'll get back to you tomorrow or something on that one!

He should read the Vedas, Ramayana abs Mahabharata. They're magnificent.
I think I've read a part of the Mahabharata. I also read the story of how the earth was created, Shiva and Vishnu fighting or something?

By saying I don't enjoy philosophy I meant I could never study it extensively or read even half the works worth reading on the subject, because it bores me to death. I do love to read though, I'm just more of a popular literature guy.
