I have also asked myself the same question many times. The same thing can be applied to the Universe as well. We've all heard of the big bang but then where did the materials that started the big bang originate?
I think it humans are thought not to question him just to respect and obey.

Alpha and Omega as in the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet also used to symbolise the beginning and the end. In other words he was always there and always will be there. He was never created, just always existed.

Our whole universe was in a hot dense state,
Then nearly fourteen billion years ago expansion started. Wait...
The Earth began to cool,
The autotrophs began to drool,
Neanderthals developed tools,
We built a wall, we built the pyramids,
Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries,
That all started with the big bang!

As for the question you asked, all we have heard about God is that he is the Alpha and Omega but I don't think there has ever been a theory about how he came into being. I think humans are thought not to question him just to respect and obey.
That's precisely what I was thinking, if the universe is infinite in space is it also infinite in time?

@Alc TBBT theme does not answer my question unfortunately. :p

@Kate honestly I wish I could answer you conclusively but I am not scientist so I could be wrong as hell but I would have to say no. For something to be infinite in time it would have to always exist and the universe did not always exist. Food for thought though, is the time that exists within the universe infinite? Parallel universes here we come. :D

I think it's a question that we might not be able to mentally handle, at least I know I can't. I do know I am not going to waste my time on a deity of human invention, though.

I saw in interesting post on Twitter a few weeks ago. Apparently, Jesus was not gods only begotten son. According to Psalms 2:7, King David was gods first son.

Can any Christian confirm this? I read the verse and it seems to support this claim.
That's not accurate kind David had earthly parents and was only God's son by the abrahamic lineage.

I just thought of something (eternal return) that might contradict my original no to the universe/time question so I will leave my answer as an I don't know. :D
