I have always been against the stupid G14, it will be a mayor step back in football. and football is culture... I wouldn't want to be the one to take it from example the Spanish folks.
...BTW Juventus have already said yes to G14, if it would happen.

More ontopic: I'd rather let Germany have 4 spots then for example Norway having a direct ticket to the cl. I mean Bremen vs Rosenborg, which one would you rather see in the tournament?

... And who cares if its called "The champions league", its just a name!!

Considering what the tournament has evolved from, Champion's League has a meaning of the league winners compete agaisnt each other.

If I were Platini, I'd change the whole system of how national competitions are being ran, with a possibility to win the Leage weeks before it's all over. An American play-off system, similar to that of the CL must be introduced.

And then, after we know the champions, we can run the CL- for two or three months.

CL would be more beautifull if they take off that away-goal rule thing.
then every team will play more offensive, and I like the groups stage style more than knock-out

on the contrary, i think we would see more and more games going to extra-time and penelty shoot-outs, especeally the highier the stages get either semis or even quarters

In recent years, germany's 4th CL spot has been taken away.

Do you think german football is strong enough to have it given back to them?

Whilst Bayern are undoubtedly a cut above everybody else, there are at least 4 more teams in germany (Bayer Leverkusen, Werder Bremen, Stuttgart, Schalke 04)who could compete in europe sucessfully, which is more then England, for example, has to say.

Give the 4th CL spot back to germany? I say yes.

thoughts? Opinions? Meinungs?
definitly nooooooooooooooooo

Sorry I thought we had two semi-finalists.

I think the Platini suggestion is unrealistic. In today's world (and football is part of today's world), you cannot rule out the commercial end of things.
On that premise alone, Platini's idea would not work.

You do have a point there.
I would say there are at least 5 teams in germany who could compete in europe with success. Bayern, Leverkusen, Schalke, Stuttgart and Bremen. I wont include Berlin in the formula, because their domestic success might be harder to repeat against better teams.

Whilst in England, I only see two teams that could go anywhere next season, and that would be Manchester and Chelsea.
