smoking is association game.
You associate cigarette with everything (or almost everything) that brings pleasure.
Smoke with coffee, after food, after sex, with glass of wine. You also smoke when you are nervous because it's associated with "pleasure" so it will diminish the feeling of anxiety and so on....

I quit 9 weeks ago. First three days were a nightmare. Up to that point i was dealing with physical part of my addiction. Since then, it was all about breaking up the associations. Hey, coffe feels as good in the morning even without a cigarette. You can live without a cigarette after a meal. wine has the same, if not better taste. Sex? Please, the only thing i want after sex is more of it

so, disassociate cigarette from things you like in life, and you are 50 % there
