Cancer, war, genocide and religion is the worst thing that happened to humanity? No, I see how that is not a controversial statement.
But most wars, and genocide(s) are caused by religion, now, as well as in the past

1. Order: What are the chances of things working out this way? Sya you put all the pieces necessary to make a working watch in a bag and shake it around-what are the chances of the watch being re-assembled perfectly? There for how is this world so ordered? damn-g2g-dad just got home.........
Actually, the chances are very small. Thats why there are billions and billions and billions of billions of planets out there, and a few of them have to have life. If you tried to reassemble the watch a few billion times, I'm sure you'd get it right a few times, even if you had no idea what you were doing.

kali please keep an eye out for peoples feelings when you make statements.

hwie- thats what drew me to religion. when i look at myself and imagine the human race without thumbs, or without *****es, or lungs, or feet or if the earth wasnt at a perfect distance away from the sun i ask myself how the hell would we survive?
We would adapt

your first point: sorry for misinterpreting. imho humans made the world a dump.

second- i asked you to prove a point. assuming you say yes, its a matter of faith that you know you have a brain. you have not observed your brain with either of your 5 senses. hence you do not depend on what you observe, but on faith to believe you have a brain.

faith is a just a fancy word for trust, or a general belief
Oh, do come on, it's been scientificlyproven humans (and all other mammels) have brains

God is perfect, and we were made perfect, but it's Satan and sin that corrupted us. God gave us free will, because Hee didn't want to make robots that say in a monotone voice "we love you God"...what's the point of that?

He wants us to love Him out of our own free will, who wouldn't?

But why does he want us to love him???

wars and genocides are caused by differences in religion, and people being stupid and killing each other, because they think they're right. It's like Islam...

(sorry if i'm wrong, i don't know that much)

Islam doesn't teach all Muslims to go and kill Americans, this is just a bunch of people who have interpreted it how they wanted and told people that it's Allah's will for Americans to die. This doesn't mean that all Muslims are fanatical suicide bombers, it's just a select few crazy people who do these things.

I'll never understand the situation in Northern Ireland, it's just a disgrace to me. :undecide:

Billions of planets, with some having life (i didn't know that there's several known planets with life) is very different from what evolution theorises. I think i've said enough about the chances of this in previous threads.

Also, this isn't just a case of swinging a broken watch a billion times. Even if you got it right just once, you would have to swing it around a billion more times and get it right every single time. Now if you've studied permutations and combinations, you'd know that getting a one in a billion a billion times consecutively has a probability that is negligible at best

Because that's his nature. God is love, God loves, and God loves love. :D

just for the record, i hope none of you believes that muslims are extremists who go bombs everyone :D like i said before, killing the innocent is one hell of a crime in islam, and there are only two reasons where u could go to war in islam- 1) to defend the defenceless and 2) to defend one's self

@kaliman: Do you want a proof? Just look at yourself. You live. And look around you. There is life everywhere. Life is the miracle of God.

Do you belive, what you see? Hmm..... What about blind men? They should belive in nothing, because the have never seen it?

And an importatn thing was written by Saint Exupery, if you know the story of the Little Prince: Men can see well just with their hearts, what is really important, that is invisible for the eyes!

Okay, breaking down the structure of the word (i love doing this with all kinds of words), I think lilianna would be good at it, because a lot of these words are from Greek.

the 'the' part, in polytheist etc. refers to God.

Hence we have theology - the study of God, the 'log' part meaning "the study of"

as in biology - the study of life, 'bio' referring to life

ANYWAY (see, i told u i love doing it, u can go on forever).

poly refers to multiple, so polytheists believe in many Gods, while Muslims and Christians are monotheists (no prizes for guessing what mono means) ;)

the 'a' in atheist pretty much means "not"

e.g. synchronous/asynchronous

I hope that makes sense. :)

My friend sent me a picture from where he's staying for a week. These things don't come about by chance. God is an artist

I'll never understand the situation in Northern Ireland, it's just a disgrace to me. :undecide:
I'm not an expert, but I believe that the Northern Ireland issue is about more than just religion. Britain is a mostly protestant nation, Ireland a catholic one. Northern Ireland has about an equal division of the two religions amongst its population.

Now this is where the problems start: the catholics in NI want their nation to join Ireland so the island will be united again. The protestants fear they will be oppressed in such an Irish Superstate and will never allow NI to leave the United Kingdom.

Through the decades, the two different groups have started to 'hate' each other, including their seperate religions.

But still the Northern Ireland issue is more about the nation than about religion if I recall correctly.
