the overall impression i got from him (judging from the bayern games, not the national team) is, that he has many games where he is clearly 2 classes below ribeiry ... nothing to be ashamed of, but surely not someone you really would like to have in your club.

often he disappears and does not do much useful just as if he had no idea what to do with the ball.

for our vacant spot on the left (nedveds position) he isn't great as well ... he has not the ability to get good crosses in with his left foot.

i guess to many remember his goals against portugal in the world cup, but fail to remember that they only happend because Ricardo (portugals keeper) is a terribe "fliegenfänger" and should have at least punched his first goal easily away. the replay clearly show that the ball passes one meter two his left ...

Watching too many games doesn't mean you know what's right from wrong and vice versa. Diego is the better player and it's a fact whether we all like it or not. And there's really no comparison between the two players. Modric hasn't proved anything yet. He's not even in the top 15 midfielders to say the least.

I'm not biased, I've never praised Croatian players for the sake of it. I'm praising this new generation which is simply incredibly talented with players like Modric, Eduardo, Corluka, Rakitic, etc. 2 years ago I was spitting all over our NT, because we were crap. Now when we again look like a team and have some incredible individuals and I praise them, I'm biased.

I agree that Bastian isn't really impressive with Bayern, but most people wanting Schweini here take into account the fact that he would be for free.

I never claimed Luka was the only one, don't make up stuff for lack of better arguements. Just a few post above, I praised our key players of the last few years. But Luka was pivotal in pretty much every game.

What achievements? Beating England 2 times and making them not qualify for the Euro, topping the group naturally. Winning the group stage in the Euro and beating a nation the size of Germany in it, only to lose in a shameful way to an unexplainable phenomenon which was Turkey.

We're not doing so well? True, the loss to England shook us up but it was coming since we were undefeated on our home pitch for a very long time. Still, lots of matches coming up. We'll qualify most likely.

New leauge, new teammates, new country, new language and not 3 months have passed. You cut more slack to Tiago I must admit. Second year going, you still belive in him adapting. Though Luka was pretty good the last 2 games, even got in the team of the week. He's slowly adapting.
