So it's the common sense probably.
I think that the guy had the last two summer transfer windows in mind, the way we spent our money and negotiated with other clubs. He knows that we've been pretty cheap, we didn't want to spend much on one player (even Amauri was bought by including our players in the deal) and his common sense tells him that we find Diego's price too high.

But he forgot that things might have changed after we played in CL.

Not just that but the fact that we spent around 32 mil euros (plus players exchanged) last season on 3 players (momo, amauri and poulsen).

We've spent nothing this winter so all these money saved could easilly reach 32-40 mil for this summer transfer budget.

Referees are bought in the cheapest price these days, so no worries on that matter.
60 000 for the main referee and 20 000 for the linesmen (for each one of them). That's 100 000 per match. Ok, there are some, like Farina and Ayroldi, who ask for 80 000, but they're minority.

So, 100K X 38 = 3 800 000 eur. Make it 4 million.

We can sell Tiago and we can buy ourselves two championships. :agree:

Ribery is probably the best attacking winger in the game, but he would be expensive. Silva, coming back from injury, would be cheaper (although a bit risky)

Diego is a CM that can pull the strings, and also is having an off year and would be a great value

Ronaldo plays well in Man U because the team has such an array of attacking threats that opponents cannot concentrate on him. His performance with Portugal will be a better indicator.

He has a point Fred,Ronaldo does have this tendancy to choke in BIG games, but he is the player I would have on my team at the moment even more than Messi.

C.Ronaldo is undoubtly superior to Ribery, and I would be shocked if he wouldnt be for the rest of his career. Slow down on ze Ribery love potion.
