Diego nostalgic for Juve
Monday 11 October, 2010
Wolfsburg playmaker Diego insists he still hears from many of his former Juventus teammates and wishes them well this season.

The 25-year-old Brazilian was sold late in the transfer window this summer after just one year in Serie A, causing a stir in Turin.

Initially, Diego was bitter especially with Beppe Marotta after it seemed Juventus would keep faith in him having paid Werder Bremen €25m for his signature.

However, it now appears he has calmed down a bit and that his memories of Turin are still fond.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Diego said: “I still speak with many of the players. I always stay well informed.

“I speak with Felipe Melo, Amauri, Grosso and Sissoko. I have many friends at Juve and I wish the Bianconeri all the best.

“I did what I had to do well, but it didn't all depend on me, but also on those who were in command of the club.”

When asked if he can forget Italy, Diego said: “I can't do it. I was happy.”

Finally, he gave his two shillings on the title race in Serie A.

“Inter no longer seem to be that much stronger than the others. Juve can do very well. I don't know if they will win, but they certainly have the team to do very well.

“Right now I am thinking about my next objective. I am happy to be in Germany. It's the best League at the moment.

“I have the happiness of playing again, which is essential for a player. I hope to stay there for many years now,” he concluded.

poor Diego ... he is destined to end like robinho ... good for one club and failing to deliver for any other club and getting sold on and on in the long run =( robinho just had the luck that he did get a high profile move to real madrid ... if he had not, he would be a quaresma-like player, because his performances for other clubs hardly make anyone raise an eye-brow

Robinho.. It's his own fault. He should have chosen PSV instead of Real back in the day. Guus Hiddink at PSV back then, did everything to get him at a young age. PSV let's Brazillian stars that they buy come on in different stages. So far they had done amazing jobs with Romario and Ronaldo (the Brazillian one)

Diego, the guy was good as a AMC. didn't like him at a SS so much. His shots on goal were extremely weak. I know Moggi repeated that he wasn't suited to Italian football, never knew why actually but he didn't had a good season with us, nontheless he should have gotten a second chance. But a Neymar or Cassano can make me forget about him in just a few seconds.

Wolfsburg Playmaker Diego: Bundesliga Is Far Superior To Serie A

After spending a disappointing year at Juventus, Brazilian playmaker Diego has returned to his greatest form at Wolfsburg. Ahead of this weekend's Bundesliga restart, the 25-year-old praised Germany's top flight, as well as Wolfe striker Edin Dzeko.

"I think the Bundesliga is much more balanced than the Serie A," he told ran.de. "On their day, any team can beat any other. As for the infrastructure, stadiums and fans, the Bundesliga leads the way."

"All in all, the Bundesliga is currently far superior to Serie A."

Diego also praised Edin Dzeko, the striker with whom he has forged quite a prolific partnership.

"I'm sure that in due course, he will be one of the three, four or five best strikers in Europe."

Dzeko has been repeatedly linked with moves to Juventus and Milan, but Diego's opinions just might coerce him into remaining in Germany.
Any team can beat any other in Serie A though and they don't have to be on their day...

So the Bundesliga is 'far superior' because it has better stadiums and more fans, I know Diego is a bit daft but I doubt even he said that. If it was so great he could have gone to Bayern initially ;)

With the exception that Robinho is sheer quality and Quaresma is someone who tries to emulate Ronaldo.

Has Diego forgotten that Juve themselves lost to many relegation zone team? How the hell he says it only happens in Bundesliga?

And if Bundeslinga is better just because of their good stadia, then i can say MLS is better than Serie a.

Those footballers and especially the brazilians are insincere.

Bundesliga is superior to Serie A though, maybe not for the reasons he mentioned, but still.
:agree:

He is making it too obvious now that he's just trying to make himself feel better after a disappointing season with us though, not just with the above statement.

Fatty, I'm sorry I have to be the one to say this, but you seem to be giving way too much attention to those headphones instead of something else on that avatar.

No one appreciates hands anymore these days. :disagree:
