We can only justify his sale from who's coming in. Diego as Second Striker is not great, he lacks the off the ball movements, he always comes back to retrieve and build, but since we have aquillani, who can build from midfield, Diego becomes dispensable.

I love Diego, his style and technique. But there are a few names I could think of that plays his position better, he would flourish elsewhere.
