He chose the 28 because of two reasons:

1) 2+8 = 10
2) His birthday is the 28th February

He said so himself;)

Why? He has made some good clearances doing this when we were under pressure...

I just read that Diego and Marchisio might not be fit for the Sunday game, is this true?

Diego hails 'perfect' Juve

Friday 19 February, 2010

Juventus playmaker Diego believes his side played the perfect game last night as they beat Ajax 2-1 in the Europa League.

The Bianconeri came back from behind in Amsterdam thanks to a brace from Brazilian striker Amauri.

Speaking to UEFA.com, Diego said: “Ajax have a very good team and the first chance they had, they scored, but we were very intelligent, and Amauri was perfect.

“Two or three chances and two beautiful goals - it was perfect for us.

“It was really hard. Ajax are a really strong team, especially at home, but we played very well. The Coach was really intelligent.

“Ajax put one against one with me so it was hard to play in midfield, but that means there's more space for other players.

“It's not important how many chances you create but when you have a chance, you must score. That was the secret for us.”

Finally Diego reserved special praise for Alessandro Del Piero, the Juventus captain who inspired his team to victory.

“He's been great in our last two games and that's really important for us. When he plays well, it is better for everybody.”

He definitely does have a quieter game when he is man marked, but that also frees space up for Del Piero and others, so it might restrict Diego individually but now we have another creative master in there we don't feel it, the opposition just lose a player.

i would not blame the formation so much .... its more or less that the opponents think diego is our biggest weapon so they do primary work out a plan to cancel him out ... thats pretty much ok, if you have some alex del piero in your team who will gain from the shifted attention away from him and to diego ...

after the latest performances by alex (and hence he is a sure starter know) the opponents might focus more on alex and this will lead to more freedom for diego ...
and here we got the confirmation of my theory by diego himself in an post-match interview

Maybe we should give Diego a rest and give Giovinco a chance...

problem is that we cant afford to rest players in serie A, too crucial for us to give others a chance.

Although i feel giovinco will add a lot of creativity, just not the same way diego does.
