Diego is a Golden Ball candidate
The time for the distribution of the end of years is drawing near. As always, one of the most sought after is the Golden Ball awarded by France Football. The award is given to the best player in Europe and will be decided in December. As from today, however, the names of the 30 finalists is known.
Amongst these is the name of one Juventus player: Diego. The Brazilian champion is in the list due to the great performances with Werder Bremen last season contributing to the victory of the German Cup and the second place in the UEFA Cup.
There are no Italian players in the final 30, something that has never happened since 1985. Below is the complete list of the 2009 edition:
