Yeah he came to replace pavel but to compare the two is madness. Is like comparing Nedved and Zizou.
Nedved came here not showing the flair and ball dominion of Zidane, but nedved showed us what is to be a fighter on the field till the end,he was the epitome of "guts" and that is something none of Diego or Zidane will match,never...

BUT
Zidane gave his fair share to the team on his own way...and im very sure Diego will make it in his own way too, and for sure he will leave us mindblowed...

The last time i was so excited about a mercato signing was the day they announced Nedved to be a Juventini!.

Diego is no Nedved and Nedved is no Diego..... but Diego has to show a lot to fill the gap left from our Czech monster.

you folks make me chuckle...brainwashing???? if anything, in england there remains and has been in place for many years an anti manchester sentiment, which besets most teams who stay near or at the top of their league, year after year, attracting the best players, winning the most titles, etc etc...

To tell me, or try to tell me, that he is not mentioned as being one of the greats, by whom????? is preposterous. I know literally thousands of fellow supporters in england, hundreds in a manner approaching intimate friendship, and its certainly not as uncommon as you are suggesting that Cantona is referred to as a true great.

And I think Ferguson probably changed his mind about DP as his most coveted and potentially valuable player, after he brough in and nurtured Ronaldo...

But back to my point. Opinions are subjective. your measures may be different to mine. To me Eric Cantona will remain one of my favourite, most highly valued players of history. Yes, i see him as a True Great...

I guess you two have lived in England, around the time of Cantona, and are perfectly positioned to guage his reputation amongst the british supporters?

Either way, it doesn't change my opinion. I love the man, always will do...as i hope to develop such a love for Diego...and in a decade time, maybe longer, if I haven't yet been culled, I will be talking the same way about our brazilian maestro.
Well that's what you get when you imply someone being a bigger legend than DP. Be careful next time.

I will do nothing of the sort...A forum is a place to exchange opinion. not to agree on everything. I am all for constructive debate rooted in knowledge and understanding, and as an essential base, a love of juve. But for that love to prohibit love for any other artisans of the beautiful game, makes the love something else, it makes it conditional...Its the same as Del Piero having a poor game, getting outclassed by lets say Totti, and us losing 0-4, with totti grabbing all goals, and Del Piero missing 4 penalties, and the suggestion of criticism for our pinturicchio resulting in a ban from this forum...its more open than that...else it wouldnt be so popular. Only an idiot thinks he knows everything about football...and i certainly take exception to idiots who assert the position of judgement of the british footballing public, without having lived in Britain for the time in question...Its a useless position, of no value...and reverting to How Dare You Suggest a Player from Another Club Is Better than One Of Ours, is tantamount to idiocy, not proof of love for Juve...

And when you can't get that, you're better of debating with a wall. Ever since Ibrahimovic vs DP debates, I've learned it's better of to avoid compairing anyone with DP. It's futile. In the end you'll always get attacked for thinking someone is larger than DP, or in this case people(only-juve) got offended for compairing a great like Cantona to DP. If anything, he should have been flattered. Hate him or love him, Cantona was a true great in the game(not taking anything away from DP of course).

 come on guys am not even a fan of del piero, It's just an opinion. I just think that the english media do overrate players playing in their league. I've seen Contana playing and to me he was nothing special (great but not exceptionally good to call him a legand).

I remember someone like Paul Gascoigne been rated as one of the best players at the time (in england) and back in the earlly 90's i hadn't seen him play but when he moved to lazio i remember watching the guy and thinking is that really the guy that they were rating so high !!!

The premier league was pretty average (if not below average) in those days and when a certain player is good he's hailed as the next big thing in england....

I beg to differ. Man Shitty look quite formidable this year, and Tottenham are always interesting to watch. Don't underestimate the likes of Villa or West Ham either; oh, and I am saying this as a fan of Serie A, and ardent supporter of Juve (15 years and still going strong).

As for Weed's comments, I truly respect his opinions and his desire to try and maintain objectivity even on the most subhective of matters. I am a fan of DP, and while I believe he is more talented than Cantona, Zidane is by far a superior talent to him, as is the case for guys like Messi and Kaka. No need to be delusional and blinded by bias.

this is very true!!!! They overrate the players... For example Aquilani, before he joined liverpool they didn't know he existed at all. Now you hear they say that he is one of the best midfielders in Europe!!!

If you need input from someone born and bred in the UK witnessing the Cantona years then heres my quick 2cent. Only man utd fans consider Cantona a 'legend'. The rest of us think hes a great player with exceptional skills however he should not be put on a mantle beside Zidane, even Del Piero for that matter. But he was great, just not that great. And I agree, back then english media was overrating several players. Owen was suppose to be the next best thing after that argie game, look at his progress since.

DP > Juve + God + Messi + Zidane + Maradona + Pele + Zlatan + Diego + Cantona and the rest of universe.

But really, there's no wrong in admitting there are a handful of players that have had greater careers and talent for that matter. But to even consider someone like Cantona is just an insult.

Exactly. These guys are trying to make DP fans look blind, like we're retarded or something. Notice how no one had any objections when Weedguru mentioned Zidane, and Cristiano as having slightly more talent, but we objected on Cantona, because it's true, no way Cantona has more talent, and is a bigger football legend than Del Piero.
