Diego: 'I have much to prove'

German newspapers may claim he has a €16m deal with Wolfsburg, but Diego is focused only on Juventus. “I have much to prove, this is only the beginning.”

The Brazilian impressed during Friday night’s Trofeo TIM and scored a fine goal against Milan.

I have much to prove this season. This is only the beginning,” he wrote on his official website.

I was very satisfied, as it’s not every day you get to score a goal like that.”

The result was 1-1, losing in a penalty shoot-out, while Juve lost 1-0 to Inter in the other 45-minute match.

Facing the strongest Italian sides in a friendly tournament like this is a great way to improve our pre-season condition.”

Meanwhile, the German newspapers continue to maintain that Diego is in advanced negotiations with Wolfsburg.

They state the two clubs agreed on a €16m fee and his father flew to Germany to discuss personal terms.

It’s reported Diego wanted €8m per season over three years, but settled on €24m to be spread over four years.

How good is this Misimovic?
What position is he playing?
Can he play in our formation (4-4-2)?
Misimovic is decent player, with good technique and great passing ability, but he is damn slow and doesn't run a lot or at all. And that is the biggest flaw of his game and that's why he never became WC IMO.

His preferred position is AM where he is the best and can assist a lot. Playing him as CM would be a waste. So I don't see how he could play in our 4-4-2, and also that makes rumor of signing him even more BS. I actually laughed pretty much when I heard that we are signing him as Diego replacement.

Media wrote that Wolfsburg want to sell this guy.. So they want to buy Diego.. Can we buy him and play him as CM? Or Misimovic position is only AM.. It would be great if we have Diego as SS and Misimovic as CM and supply the ball either to Diego or our striker while Momo don't need to do much passing responsibility
Misimovic's vision is terrific. You know, one of those players who always knows where the other 21 player on the pitch is positioned at the moment.
But there is one problem....he doesn't run and when he does it's like watching the Del Piero of today.
Granted, that would mean that serie A is exactly the league that should suit him the most, but in a team that lacks movement, I doubt he's the guy to buy. It's correct though that after Zidane we didn't have a player with better vision and passing ability than Misimovic. Still, like I said, I don't think he's a player we should be buying at this moment. Perhaps in a package with Dzeko because they're already proven as a great pair, but alone...I have big doubts.

Here is a nice youtube video of Misimovic

Unfortunately the author concentrated on his goals more than the assists, but there are some 6-7 assists too and look who's always scoring the goals.
Yes, I'm talking to you Hustini :D

Juve demand Dzeko for Diego

Tuttosport claims Diego has agreed €7.5m per season personal terms with Wolfsburg, but Juventus demand Edin Dzeko as part of the €20m deal.

Confirmation came from the Bianconeri camp that negotiations were on with the Bundesliga club.

It is now reported that the player’s father has agreed personal terms worth €7.5m per season after flying to Germany for talks.

However, the problem now lies between the clubs, as Juve have seemingly rejected the €16m offer.

They are hoping to force Wolfsburg into releasing Bosnian striker Dzeko as part of a straight swap.

Dzeko blasted Wolfsburg this week for failing to keep their promise to sell him this summer and made it clear he wants to join Juve.

If the Germans continue to hold out, then the Bianconeri will accept no less than €20m for Diego.

Schalke 04 were part of the bidding war, but have since pulled out of the running for Diego.

When your passing, technique and vision is such a quality, you don't need to run a lot. He has brains, and uses it when there is a question to run or not. He's using shortcuts to get the ball or to run around 1 on 1 :p

But Diego is better.

7.5m eur a year might be really tempting. Diego will not get even close to that in Juve.

Right now he's on 3.8m eur.
