if diego does not work for us, robinho would not as well ... same goes to other attacking midfielders.

if you can not get the ball to diego, when he is in the opponents half, then you can not get the ball to anyone that plays on the same position. it's all the same ... you can buy kaka, but when kaka need to go to our own box to receive the ball he will play the same "crap" as diego does right now.

it has very few to do with diego itself.

if diego was an asshole like christiano ronaldo he could as well just stand on the midway line (and not drop deep) and wait for the other players to give the ball to him to start attacks.

that would improve his attacking play (because he would have more energy for that),.

he should really do that, so people realizie that it is not him who sucks, but the midfield who should like the defense and the attack.

its just because diego does give a fuck and wants to get the ball and help his team mates that he lets himself be dragged out of position to make it even easier for the defenders to pass the ball to him. but in a working "configuration" it would be the defenders that would play the ball to the midfielders, who then would play the ball to diego who makes a run inside the opponents half ...
