In an ideal world, Diego.

I will be happy with either and would go for whoever provides better value for money.

:agree:

i think the majority of us here would prefer Diego and agree he is the slightly better player.

However, with Van der Vaart having a clause in his contract which can see him leave for 700,000 thousand in 2009 we could get him on the cheap this summer.

I would prefer Diego but if he is going to be £15m+ euros more than Van der Vaart then i think we should just go for Rafael. remember we still dont have a huge amount of money and need to invest in our defence too.

so we r going to bid for everyone and end with no one?
i'll take diego over vdv. maybe both are on the same level but vdv is often injured and think he is a more comblicated character.

U think right... ;) He is better with the ball (dribling)...but all so VdV is very good player...real question is, who will play with his heart for this club? VdV has stated that he prefers Spain, but last few days, he has sad “I will only leave Hamburg for a big club, such as Juventus”...but is often injured...
Diego on the other hand, had some mix signals... he likes Serie A, Roma or Milan, he likes Spain...Hmmm and there is a price tag...

Let as seat back and enjoy the mercato...:flag2:

another option is bringing Quaresma and bringing Giovinco back (if Nedved retires)
another option is giving Giovinco DP`s spot
well VDV is a great player but injured a lot Diego is a great player but will cost a lot

Here is a question as I haven`t seen those guys a lot would you say VDV and Diego are better than Giovinco and if they do is this by far or just sligthly?

I think VDV would be more Nedved type who isnt flashy but as a cannon of a leg and is very solid in every aspect. Diego could create for himself which is also nice. These styles willl both be efective in serie a I think so really its who fits better in our squad. I think VDV would fit better but its really a win win situation. Its like if we had Nedved or C ronaldo in thier prime. Most would take ronaldo but Nedved is the definition of a Juventus player

Most people would say that but im saying Nedved is the best player we could of had and agree with you that it wouldnt cross my mind to even consider taking Ronaldo...but you have to admit most fans and not juve or serie a fans would take ronaldo

i would prefer VDV over diego. he is a good leader although very young he would help our younger players. also this guy is the leading goalscorer in the bundesliga.
in the games ive seen diego play he also seems to be a bit of a hot head.
