Diego Blasts Juve Move Talk As "Lies"

Werder Bremen attacking midfielder Diego has surprised Juventus fans and directors after stating that he is not interested in the Italian club, and has no intention of leaving his team.

Diego has attacked journalists through his official club website for apparently concocting the story that he will join the Bianconeri this summer.

“It’s a total invention,” boomed the 23-year-old Brazilian talent, following reports which appeared in the Italian media on Friday and Saturday claiming that Diego was on his way to Turin.

“I only told the journalists that it was wonderful to be appreciated by such a club, but I’m fine at Werder Bremen and I want to fully concentrate on my current team, with whom I have a contract until 2011 which I want to respect," he added.

This is another blow for Juventus who had been linked to Diego after apparently losing interest in Rafael Van der Vaart.

This news will surely not go down too well with the Old Lady’s fans, many of whom were hoping to sign at least one between the Dutch midfielder and the Brazilian talent.

Diego, 22, signed on at Werder in 2006 from FC Porto.

werder management just stated that even if a club would offer more than 30mio, they'd not be ready to accept negotiations.

I can understand them. They do not need any money atm, because as far as the diego-position, they won't be able to replace him with any better player... i think we will no be able to sign him. Get their talent-scout instead, so that we can find our diego :)
but seriously, i am a little bit worried about the future of juve. i somehow can't see the building of a strong cl-squad. we're making some transfers, but none of them is like the killer-transfer, or some very promising youngster... look at bayern, bremen, ManU, Barca, ... they are just buying every rising talent... i wish juve would do some move like that. But then again, i can understand our situation. we have to focus on our main-squad first.... hell... it's not easy for juve atm, gotta admit that in defence of secco

it's german but to sum it up; it's an article with klaus allofs (sport-director of bremen). He clearly stated that diego will stay with them.
Quote: "One can never say what happens in three or four years, i can only talk about the actual an the oncoming season and I can say that Diego will stay with us" and "even extraordinary transfer-sums do not matter for us"

As much as i liked diego, i think that juve should look at other alternatives, though i think that bremen would sell diego for a sum between 35-40 mil, but that is waaaaay to much........
