A quick look at this from 2001.

2001-02
Gianluigi Buffon
Lilian Thuram
Pavel Nedved

Cristian Zenoni
Marcelo Salas

2002-03
Salvatore Fresi
Davide Baiocco

Mauro Camoranesi
Marco Di Vaio
Ruben Olivera

Manuele Blasi

2003-04
Fabrizio Miccoli
Stephen Appiah
Nicola Legrottaglie

2004-05
Emerson
Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Fabio Cannavaro
Olivier Kapo
Adrian Mutu

2005-06
Giorgio Chiellini
Patrick Vieira
Robert Kovac
Federico Balzaretti
Domenico Criscito
Giuliano Giannichedda
Gladstone
Christian Abbiati

Those in green you can pretty much say for sure were very good or good, those in red failures, the rest up to opinion.

For Marotta, judging from one torrid season and could change with a good year, but as it stands:

Marco Storari
Marco Motta
Andrea Barzagli
Armand Traore
Leandro Rinaudo
Leonardo Bonucci

Frederik Sorensen
Alberto Aquilani
Simone Pepe

Milos Krasic
Fabio Quagliarella
Luca Toni
Alessandro Matri
Jorge Martinez

Then this season to come.

Very different challenges for both directors, it has to be said. Moggi certainly added less in terms of numbers, whether it was a case that he chose to do that or didn't need to do that. I think the latter. He was in a position over several years where he could buy in a bit more quality each year (or choose not to), and then exchange the peripheral players.
I didnt expect it to be analyzed but if you already analyzed it then:
1. The good signings are in different level - Thuram Buffon Nedved Cannavaro WC and also other players were great such as Camoranesi and Ibrahimovic. There is no one WC on Marotta`s list
2. Moggi`s signings were in most cases value=money or even value>money. Marotta`s signings are more value<money
3. Salas wasnt a bad signing, He was actually a good player who got unlucky and got injured. His injury changed it all for him.
4. Other players which you mentioned as bad transfers werent that bad as we didnt spend big on them and their purpose was to fill the squad and they were ok at it. (Zenoni and Baiocco for example)
5. Di Vaio wasnt bad at all. He wasnt great eigther but I wouldnt say he was a bad transfer. I`d put him in the debatable ones.
6. I really dont agree about the bold part as apart from Vieira they would have come even if we were at the position we are at now as all the players apart from Vieira were signed from a mid table teams or small clubs
For example Nedved who is a legend came from Lazio, Buffon and Thuram came from Parma. The only exception are Vieira and Cannavaro. Cannavaro would have come as he didnt get play time at Inter and was considered surplus to requirements.
Vieira came from Arsenal and I doubt he would have come had we been the Juve we are now.

So Marotta can go to any club in the world apart from the top ones and get whoever he wants IF he offers the right amount of cash for the club and for the player

Sure, although we can make excuses pro and against all of the ones who failed, I'm just leaving it with how they actually turned out. I agree with the rest apart from the last remark about Marotta. He can't do that without CL or a billionaire. As of this summer half of that is his fault.

No we should give him time to adjust. It is hard to step on the level of Martinez and replace him outright. We should keep both for the next let's say 2 seasons and then judge the whole situation with our left wing. I think we were too hasty with our judgement of Motta as well and we shouldn't have bought Lichtsteiner either. It bears heavy wearing the shirt of a team that hasn't been competitive in half a decade for the last 50 years... Especially if these five years were the last five years. But there are players that can't adjust to that either and are taking their jobs not seriously. Buffon for instance, Chiellini could be next...
And can we blame them? I don't think so. I wouldn't be very motivated if they make me take the exams for 5th grade again, regardless whether I'll get A or F.
well done, you have taken my post completely out of context. at no point have i supported the signing of Martinez,or justified it.

however,Lippi once cautioned us about "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" and the constant revolution of a squad is exactly how Inter went about their business for years, not every player needs to be a World Champion to succeed but if we constantly throw away players year on year the only achievement we will will earn is underachievement

actually, you see this completely wrong

we were the biggest italian team, top 3 in europe, players wanted to come to us.

Moggi could negotiate with champions, to come to other champions

marotta, has to convince quality players to join a fallen legend, thats alot harder, and you need to spend more to get them.

sorry but if you dont see that you shouldnt post about it

Why do people tell others they have no business posting if they don't see eye to eye?

Grow a spine already.
