Here we go again with this BS argument! If you have the proper coach, and a strong board, with a competent and charismatic GM and sporting director, this wouldn't be an issue. Juve are not a small time club, and are bound to emerge again as serious contenders, hopefully within the coming 3 years.
You sell a winning project to the players, convince them that they will become an integral part of it, and that they can bring this club forward and win together!
However, with your mentality, we should accept and resign ourselves to accepting 2'nd best, and then hope that we get lucky and somehow end up finishing 3'rd so that the potential of CL football can attract top players. If not, repeat the cycle, until either shit continues to hit the fan, or we somehow miraculously find a magical cure.

If we were in the CL we wouldn't have a problem...but alas, as you mentioned from the top down argument...that seems to be the source of a lot. IMO if we had a good coach the last 2 seasons we wouldn't be in this predicament. DN screwed us as did the duo the season before that. This team could win as demonstrated against the big teams, but our coach(s) were incapable of keeping the boys mentally strong...having a team collapse the way we did against the small teams has noting to do with the BoD rather the coach.

Rossi/sanchez/pastore 3 top players in their own right, all of whom are wanted by top clubs with both appeal, offer european competition and strong financial backing, excluding Juventus. If Juve were to offer terms to both club and player as well as the other clubs interested. who do you really think they will go for? i for one would probably choose a club like man city, barcelona, or perhaps even inter over Juventus right now. Perhaps because you are guaranteed to be someone here, as opposed to just another player who might end up rotting on the bench. Environment, familiarity with the country and the culture, the chance to make a change and be part of a club with history and tradition, looking to regain its former glory. I understand your logic and reasoning, but I am sure that if we are convincing and persuasive enough, we can manage to get the likes of Sanchez and Pastore; perhaps not Aguero, Tevez, or even Benzema, but Sanchez and Pastore are distinct possibilities.
People have already forgotten last mercato. They still want to buy 'promising' players that no big clubs seem to show any interest in because they're after the real talent. Its been tried and history tells us it has failed. It should seem obvious by now that the Juventus jersey is not magical, you don't just put it on and become a top player all of the sudden.

I think he would be good here. Personally, if we can get him for a good price (not 16m, which is laughable) I would prefer him as a backup to both wings. Since he excels on the left but is right footed he could do well on the right side as well to give Krasic a rest. That way we can pass on Pepe and have quality coming off the bench.
