A falta de unos pequeños flecos en el contrato, el Villarreal CF y el jugador Diego Godín han llegado a un acuerdo por el cual el defensa pasa a pertenecer a la disciplina del club amarillo para las cinco próximas temporadas.

El defensa central será presentado mañana jueves a las 13:00 horas en el estadio el Madrigal. Previamente, a las 8:30 horas, el jugador realizará la revisión médica en el Hospital Nou d´Octubre.

Godín se formó en las categorías inferiores del Defensor Sporting y en el 2003 pasó a la disciplina del Club Atlético Cerro que militaba en primera división del fútbol uruguayo. El año pasado fue fichado por el Club Atlético Nacional de Montevideo.
El defensa es internacional con la Selección Uruguaya: debutó el 26 de octubre de 2005 en un amistoso contra México (ha sido convocado en 12 ocasiones con la selección charrúa).

I don't think people realize how excellent moggi was at what he did. They will soon. I think Moggi would have been able to get us a couple better players than we got this year. We will miss him.

As for Godin... he is 21. We have Criscito and Chiellini who are both you CB's and LB's (if need be). This just tells me that Chiellini is on his way out, because if he was staying there would be no need for this kid. I would love to see us pick up Lugano though.
