Del Piero earns his money by being the icon for the club. He still brings in fans and sells shirts.
I'm sure he'll still be a popular figure at 46, too. Worth keeping him as a backup even then? He's finished now, he'd be finished then. Shrug.

At some point management needs to draw the line.

Our commentators said yesterday, that forlan was the late sub because of some transfer. Rubin wants him badly, but does he wants russia?

You'd have doubts about Forlan's ability after the World Cup a few months ago?

Let's remember... we don't make the CL, we're in the wilderness at least another year if not more. It's not like we have to marry the guy.
I Wasn't questioning his ability, just wondering what others thought about Juve possibly buying another 30+ Striker for 10+ million euros.

Adriano and juveroo bring up some good points.

Forlan does not look like slowing down anytime soon, Drogba is about the same age, he is still firing, Milito is about the same age, look what he did for Inter last year. Alex was how old when he was raping Madrid, or when he ended up top scorer. Who else is there? If he can give us 2 years ill be happy, we need quality now! Who better to bring it?

Forlan is quality and if he comes we will be one step closer to CL. We bring in Toni, Flores and Lopez we can say CL goodbye even without trying..
If all options suck, better not buy anyone.

As for Forlan, yes he is OLD. I can't believe how they are talking about youth policy, reducing average age and wage then building our attack by picking up 90's all-stars.

Batistuta won his first scudetto when he's 31/32.

Back in 90's and early 2000's, it was considered the prime age of professional footballers, when their technique and experience really matured

But players of 31-32 are regarded as "old" now... which is kinda sad.

You guys do realise that 10 or so for a player that could be the difference between CL and no CL is nothing...Our budget will increase immensely with CL.
